Yamaheater rock is working on a plug and play harness for me to offer with the japan levers. Will be offering kits with a good used japan lever, the mounting hardware and a plug and play harness which allows for hi and low outputs to the japan lever.
We will also offer the harness for those that already have a japan lever laying around or source their own.
Great job.
Looking forward to this.
Your next project should be replacing the viper brake lever. Lol

I would not mind the thumb warmer being a little hotter any way..........

I think rock is going to incorporate a little more heat into the design.

Rock tells me he has tested the plug and play adapter and all works well. It will be approximately a 1" box with input lead to plug into harness and output lead which plugs into japan lever. I should have the prototype soon to verify wire lengths and fit up.

I may be the only one, but the Viper throttle lever was no problem for me this winter. I have been riding a Vector for the past few years, but this was the first winter in a long time that I have ridden 150-200 mile days without my thumb getting really tired/sore. I don't know whether it is the design of the throttle lever, or the pull of the lever, or the fact that the only pain I felt all winter while riding my Viper was mouth soreness from my lips being in a permanent smile!
I just don't like the pull of it. Seems much harder and further out than Phazer. Only notice it first ride or two or when switching sleds. I will give this a try.

I dont use my thumb to control the throttle.
I use the palm/web part of my hand just below/beside my thumb.
Dont like the way the cat throttle fits/feels

I switch between my thumb and web, but favor my web. Its the length of it that bothers me. I find my two baby fingers are getting sore which is weird! It's fine if we are moving at reasonable speeds. It sucks when running with the older farts or in the tight twists...

Its crazy but when I first started riding mine 2 years ago I hated it and the brake lever. then after a full season I went back to riding the pro R a bit and hated that throttle. I guess when it is new you feel it but once you log some time you get used to it. I did have the brake lever changed out on the 14 but then rode the 15 and it was fine?????

Same here. At first I hated the levers but now I'm used to them and feel fine. If you wear bulky gloves they do tend to get pinched in the throttle lever keeping you from full throttle

I think we note the change then adapt. By the end of the year both felt fine to me.

I jumped back and forth between my viper and vector all season so I never was able to forget how much nicer the japan lever felt.
