Only one pic from last night, I was out in the garage till 11 putting the skid back together. All done except for the rear axle which I can't figure out how to do... so I'll look up a parts fiche for reference.

Didn't get much more done this weekend. Ran the Joe Gibbs BR oil through the motor and put in the new XP in after that was drained. I drained it when it was nice and hot to make sure any particles were still in suspension and hadn't settled. I had to run the sled on the stand with the BR oil in it to clean everything out for a minimum of 30 min. I let it sit for 10 min intervals and let it cool down for 5-10 min between them. Sled never shut down on it's own surprisingly.
Draining the oil. As you can see the old stuff was really dark. I wonder if it was ever changed...
The pan drain takes FOREVER to stop dribbling.
IT LIVES!! When I first fired it up, it was only running on 2 cylinders and sounded like my quad. After about 20 seconds it backfired about a half dozen times every couple seconds then the third kicked in. I don't know why it didn't work from the start. I tightened all the plugs the same and made sure the caps were on tight. Runs good now though!
Here's a shot with the heat sheild trimmed, polished, and installed. I'm glad I went ahead with it, I think the naked pipe looks awesome. Just gotta make sure I don't touch it! I even left all the mounting bolts and inserts so the plastics can still be put back on.
Still left to do:
Reinstall plastics, new bumper, POR-15 the tie rod ends (rusty), re-install steering brackets (relocator not here yet and we have snow), install skis and skid, tail light. Rusty rear bumper will do for now till I decide what I all want to include in my order when I buy the new Skinz one. All easy stuff!

I installed a Trail Tank so the gas was fresh. But now that I think about it, since I emptied the fuel system almost completely, is it possible the fuel didn't make it to that injector as soon as the others?

Looking good Ryan! Did you get a Roest skid plate for it?
Cut back exhaust shroud looks good. I almost did that to mine a couple of times but still have not. Maybe next year in the ground up rebuild.

Yeah I ended up getting it. It doesn't cover as much area as others, but it'll take way more of a hit. I'll hopefully install it tonight.

Made a little more progress last night. Roest plate was a breeze to install but with my luck I managed to goof it up. I drilled the holes in the frame too small and the bolts didn't quite slide through, so I figured "I can just thread them in." Then when I went to put the lock nuts on, I realized I had flattened the threads so I figured I could just force-thread them on, and ended up stripping the allen heads of the bolts. So I have to figure that out now but I'll probably just end up buying hex bolts the same length and shaft size.
Anyway, here are the pics with all the plastics back on, half-assed because I have to do some trimming for the trail tank yet.

Dupont sliders on.
Skid still has to go in and skis need to be put on. Also my rusty old bumper is going back on because I'm tired of spending money on this thing.

All done! I got a parcel notice yesterday, I think its my OFT order which I will install soon and I'm also swapping skis with a friend and getting Pilot 5.7s for this year.
