Where are you running now? With belt change it will drop about 200rpm Maybe you will find it goes faster even with lower rpm but if it doesnt just remove some wieght from primary to get what you had back. If your belt was slipping you may not even know what your true Max RPM is right.ha! got it, but then won't you be further away from the powerband? or is that just the compromise I gotta make?
Same here. Is reason I switched. I had 5 8JP belts and thought I was set for life. 500mi later big time belt dust,black clutches and very inconsistant. Change belt clean everything up and good to go again. 500mi later same thing.i switched belts looking for a little more top end put found i am getting the exact same speed around 145km/h with the 8dn but much more dust but saying that i found after about 800km the 8jp with done after hard use it was inconsistent put a new belt on and it would be just like new for another 800km this sled spends more time on the back bumper then on the ground with alot of wot on the ponds so i don't expect to get forever out of a belt.
Wash and dry the belt before I use it? Or the clutch?Wash and dry it. I usually go 10 mi easy and have had good luck!
