Thanks guys I'll probably go with the 2/5 first, try that out, only run lakes around here not too worried about the steering, I like my skies to just dangle when i'm on the throttle.

Just a clarification, on the revolver pins, are you recommending putting nuts and bolts in these as well? Even for brandnew skids? I just received mine and was wondering if they had updated the pins or not. I guess what you are saying is with the ice build-up, it backs out the pins and they fall out, correct? Also, what has Boivin said about this issue?

Seems like some have had the issue with the pins falling out while others have not. I probably lost 3-5 pins. AD suggested I replace them with bolts. I do not ever change the positions anyways so putting bolts in solved my problem.

I never lost a pin but I do check it when I walk up to it and once it was out a little so I pushed it back in and its been fine. Just try it and see and give it a glance everyonce in awile.
Also take a balck sharpie and put a horizontal line on every bolt on the skid after its installed and keep an eye on them. They like to loosen up if you didn't use a lot of locktite.
Good luck you know have the best skid on the market IMO

would you guys recommend taking every single bolt out of the skid, slapping some loktite on, and then reinstalling?
Thants what I did. All the bolts that were installed from the factory had red thread locker installed, so I just reaplied and torqued per their specs and we will see what happens. Cant wait to see if this sled finally meeds my expectations with this new skid. If not the sled and the skid are for sale. I am done spending money on this machine to get it to ride and handle properly.DigitalFusion said:would you guys recommend taking every single bolt out of the skid, slapping some loktite on, and then reinstalling?

tbanzer, cant wait for your review.
Yes locktite should be used loosly on every bolt. The only one I never did was the rear axle because after adjusting it I always forgot to pull the bolt out, never had a issue so its not the end of the world. Like I said I do give it a look over before and during some trips spending 5 seconds to make sure all my lines are vertical that I drew on the heads

X2 - loctite every bolt and tork to spec. What I did, never had a loose bolt since. The stock red loctite was no good as bolts came loose when new. Never lost a pin either but my mileage is nowhere near mdkuni tho.

ZX2 Questions
MD, I just wanted to follow-up on your report. I have read this thread 3 times to gather as much information as possible. On page 6 dated 10/2008, you talked about revalving your shocks for rebound. I did not see where you reported back as to the improvement and what was actually done. Could you let us know? The only tweak needed done with my expert X was adjusting the rebound through revalving. Once that was dialed in, the skid was perfect. Also, I ride 90% trail aggressive, 10% off. Is was mentioned that the best revolver settings were 2 and 4. Can you show me what that looks like? The skid is at the shop and I want to get it setup with that setting before the snow flies. I think the consensus is putting in the hose fix for the limiter strap instead of the clamp. Am I correct? Also, it makes sense to me that when the limiter straps changes locations, bolts might tend to loosen up. I don't know why these bolts loosen up, this has happened several time on my X. The last question for today is that I would like some extra bolts for the revolver and skid because I have a big trip coming up. Can someone list them in one place? I have found the revolver size bolts, (2" long 3/8" diameter bolt works perfct), I now need the other skid bolts. With 16 pages, it is hard to keep scrolling through. Thanks again for the great work. I am really looking forward to getting out and putting this skid through its paces. It will take me 5+ years to get your mileage. One great thing about the skid is that I will keep it for life. Looking forward to reading your responses.
What is consensus on the track vibration? I did not see where this was resolved?

About half way down you will find my report on this thread regarding the initial revalve: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... e&start=15
I had the shocks put back to stock form in 08. Last year I had a revalve done again. This time I just had the compression stiffened up. The more miles I put on this skid/sled the harder I seem to be riding it! I had the compression changed to help with the hard hits to prevent the bottom outs.
I attached an image of the 2/4 position.
I prefer the hose over the clamp as it is a cleaner look and there is no chance of the hose moving unless it rips. I am very happy with how my hose held up. It has ripped some as you can see in my previous pictures, but it also has a lot of miles on it.
I ordered my bolts through a local hardware store. Follow this link for the sizes: http://www.adboivin.com/AxisDocument.as ... true&id=41
Just make sure you get 10.9 grade. Or you can always order the bolts direct through AD but you will pay big bucks.
I am still among the select few that have a vibration. I have removed a lot of wheels for testing and have had no positive results. The only time my vibration goes away is when the hyfax is brand new. It annoys me but I would not trade this skid for anything!

Perfect. I will report back as soon as I have something to report. Thanks again. Thanks for the drawing. What bolts/nuts do you recommend to have on hand besides the revolver ones? Call me slow, not riding, but in thought, but I don't see the bolts listed for the arms that mount into the tunnel.

Hey guys I need some help with my ZX2 setup right now---first of all I bought the thing used soo I never got any manual/instructions on track tension, limiter strap etc. soo if I could get some info off you guys that would be helpful. Also my concern with my sled is that I have the fox floats on the front with Hygears AIR resi's and was wondering at what position I need to have my Arms at(do they need to be level or more upright??) Also when I pick the backend of the sled up the front of the skid stays on the ground the longest. This was always a big NO-NO with the Proactive skid and was wondering if it is the same with this one too?? Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Also if anyone has a similar setup with the floats on the front I would be curious to see how you adjusted everything.
