Ryan - I won't be parking in my spot, due to the 30 Outlaw Super Stocks coming down, and using our spots. I will be parking next to Herbst. If you want you can park close, or right accross at the end of the staging lanes.

6/19/05 at ESTA dragway. There was a quarter mile quick 8 today for the big cars so traction was good, but didn't get many runs. Temps were high 60's to 70 and cloudy. A nice change from the 90*+ and high humidity we had been having.
run 1
60ft:1.68
1/8:7.19
mph:94.51
1/4:11.53
mph:110.80
Engine was cold and bogged off the line, then picked the skis way up. Found the secondary spring was binding too (thanks Mike).
run 2
Awful to say the least. Slight bog, then took off and headed for the 60' timers and center line.
Elimination...round 1
60ft:1.54
1/8:6.94
mph:96.39
1/4:11.21
mph:112.51
A decent overall run (except for sleeping at the line). Probably a little too much transfer off the line yet. This was my fastest run so far, and broke out big time (.13)

O.K., First of all, I want to thank Matt (aka Blue by You), (owner of The Speed Shop), Allen Ulmer (aka Srxspec), with Ulmer Racing, and Ryan (aka pro116) for tips on Friday night.
Matt and Allen, gave me some clutching components to try, to see if we could get my RX1 with 3,000 miles on it, stock plugs, stock jetting, stock airbox, stock ignition, reverse, the tool box and spare belt aboard, but with the aftermarket exhaust, carb springs, and clutching. These guys know their stuff!
Friday was real hectic, as they changed all the rules of lining us up in the staging lanes. We had to go with the cars, and start and stop every time they pulled ahead. Usually we have our own lane, and we can buzz up there and sit and watch people take their cars down the track. Only heated up the engine more, as well as the clutching.
Friday night, high school drags: Temp started at 69 degrees, and went down to 62 by the end of the night. Humidity was 28% and climbed to 58%.
1st time run - ran my clutching (HH's with 7/16 bolt and thick washer in the middle and the tip, with a 1/4 + 3/4 in the heel. Stock primary spring, with a green secondary spring set at 60%, with a 47 straight helix.
Engagement was 4,200
1.501 60ft. - 6.918 1/8mile @ 96.438mph - 11.125 1/4mile @ 113.357mph
2nd time run - Changed everthing to Matt and Allen's set up. engagement was 4,500
1.509 60ft. - 6.887 1/8mile @ 96.299mph - 11.100 1/4mile @ 113.710mph
3rd time run - left things the same, per Matt and Allen, and shot some NOS. Spun real bad!
1.559 60ft - 6.587 1/8mile @ 104.389mph - 10.512 1/4mile @ 120.752mph
Saturday 6/18/05 WOZZ Outlaw Challenge.
You guys will love these numbers!
I took Matt and Allens clutching, and combined my clutching with theirs. I needed to get the engagement down, and still have the pull on top end. Are you ready!!!!!!!!!!!!
1st run down the track was to record RPM's. (No timeslip)
2nd run (1st time run) 68 degrees with 45% humidity
1.486 60ft. - 6.834 1/8mile @ 97.164mph - 11.048 1/4mile @ 113.540mph
3rd run (2nd time run) 72 degrees with 46%
1.493 60ft. - 6.844 1/8mile @ 96.789mph - 11.048 1/4mile @ 113.015mph
1st round - Dialed 11.04 (no way I was changing it)
1.495 60ft. - 6.807 1/8mile @ 97.986mph - 11.043 1/4mile @ 107.304mph
Won round one on the brakes! This would have been a 10.99 or 11.00!
Round 2 - Dialed 11.04 (just in case of a fluke run)
1.497 60ft. - 6.815 1/8mile @ 97.036mph - 11.221 1/4mile @ 94.870mph
Won round 2 on the brakes hard!!! This run would have been an 11.01!
Round 3 - Dialed 11.04 (easier to hit the brakes than speed up)
1.489 60ft. - 6.816 1/8mile @ 97.047mph - 11.015 1/4mile @ 114.002mph
Lost round 3 to my redlight of -.012......I ran it thru to see what it would run, and the result shows. The humidity by the end of the night was pegged! Could you imagine what this sled will do in 40 degree weather, and low humidity! 10.90's now.
These are the results of an 05 RX1 trail sled, with a belt that has 1 month of racing, spark plugs from when it was new, (3,000 miles on them), stock airbox, stock jetting, tool box, and spare belt on board, with exhaust from White Knuckle Performance, carb springs from Holtzman Engineering, and clutching from Matt, Allen, Ryan, and myself. Hats off to these 3 super guys, that have been helping me throughout the last couple of years of becoming a member of Totallyamaha. Tom, I am so glad you started this site! Hats off to you as well!
Oh, by the way, I just moved into 1st place.

Terry, glad to hear it's getting better! I'll try to give you a call tonight, but I'm trying to recover from a sun burn from Saturday and Sunday at the track!
Right on Terry, way to go, I wish I had these guys around with all those parts to try different setups. You haven't tried the 26 tooth gear yet hey? I'm curious as to what that will do.
Srxspec, how far a drive is that for you? Must be quit a ways. Well, I think we are goring to have to hit Interstate Dragways one of these weekends, I'm getting the itch again.

Thanks guys
I will try the 26 tooth gear real soon.
This weekend, I will be adding some washers in the tip of the primary setup. My rpm's were a bit high at the end of the track. This alone will help me in the quarter mile to get into the 10's. I will also be changing plugs to the 9EK plugs. These plugs have the dual electrodes. Now that we know we have a 10 second fully equipped trail sled with tools and a spare belt, I will be removing those items also.
Any predictions? I figure 10.97 @ 114.05mph

our 03 rx-1 with a supertune kit ran a 10.84 and a 10.87 at 117-118 mph with a stock 03 rear skid. does your sled have a asphalt rear skid or a stock 05 skid? if you have a asphalt skid i would think 10.7 should be easy to get, if its a stock 05 skid, its really running well. from my experience the 26 will slow you down. we ran stock gearing, but you have to keep the clutches shifting on the topend to pull it off, without the silver secondary it will be hard to do, our trail turbo vector ran a 9.63 @ 134 mph this week end, and our lakerace full bodied rx-1 ran a 8.90 @ 154mph. now we are getting the light weight one with the proline rear suspension ready for tomorrow nite. i will post weight and times, not expecting much for the first trip to the track, we are trying some new things and i don't know how they will work. jeff
