Asphalt Results 2005

Hey Jeff, I was going to see if the 26 would fit in the case itself, have you tried it yet for the turbo guys?

I have a Wahl suspension with the narrow 121 track. I wanted to meet with you a couple times last year at Union Grove, and have you try your asphalt clutch setup in my sled, but we never got to the track at the same time.

Get that big guy ready for Esta!

Terry a 26 will fit in there, not by much, but it will! I didn't get caught up with ya last night, but throw some more heel weight on the Super Tips. 2 washers should bring it down to around 4200 rpm for engagement but remove 2 from the tip at the same time to keep the rpm's the same going down the track. I'll get caught up with ya tonight for sure.

Jeff, one thing you need to condsider is Terry is over 230 lbs. I think the guy who went 10.84 on your sled was in the 150 range? Also didnt that sled have a Firecat skid? Id love to see a little guy on Terrys sled.

Also Terry, as noted on the phone Sunday night, do what Allen is telling you with the heel of those STs and remove from tip. If you want to be in the 10s every run, put someone small on it, but Id love to see it run in the 10s with you on it...BBY

Terry you need to get the reverse off that sled as well. I would love to see you keep the stock gearing minus the reverse gear components.

no the sled that ran 10.80's had a stock 03 rx-1 rear skid and a 15 wide x 121 track. we also ran one with a f-7 skid and a 10.5 wide x 128 track, that one was 2-3 tenths quicker on any given day over a stock width track and suspension. a wahl rear susp and a narrow track would easily make up 3-4 tenths over a stock rx-1 rear suspension. the driver was 160 lbs, so that would help a bit also. either way a 160 lb driver should run a 10.4-10.5 with a 160 lb driver, and 10.6-10.7 with a 230 lb driver. jeff

also, the first step into the tens will be through the rear suspension, not clutching, your 60 ft time is way off for a wahl skid and a stock track. look for a 1.3-1.4 60 ft time. jeff

Allen, I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 with the phone in my hand. Woke up and it was beeping!

Allen, Give me a call tonight, as I picked up some Stainless Steel washers, with a smaller inside Diameter. I weighed them on my precision scale at work, and they are thinner, and .5 instead of a gram, so we can really tune it in.

If anyone hears of an 05 cover without reverse, Vector or RX1 cover will fit, I would like to purchase one. I know Allen can get one for me for cheap, so I might go that way.

Hey Terry, I'm only 160lbs., that's without the leathers, lol....how close are you to Brainerd? You ever tried running on that track? That track is only about 5 hours from my place, maybe we could put that NOS and turbo side by side one of these weekends

Brainerd is about that from me also, about 5 hours. I would love to run there! (somehwere with traction)

Well Terry, we should pick a weekend although the end of July and the begining of August wouldn't work for me. We were thinking of heading down to Moorehead in the next few weeks, but Brainerd is not much farther for me, otherwise I'll be there in October for the Annual American Snowmobiler shootout, (got my invite already) got to go defend my title!!! We are planning to go (without the sleds) in August to see the Top Fuelers, apparently it's a hoot!

hlmrx1, we're going to the Nationals in Brainerd on August 13-14 as well. I have free passes into the hospitality tent via our Miller Lite sponsorship and have 18 people going all together. We'll have to keep in touch and try to meet up that weekend.
