Well, my season ended 2 Weeks ago on family day weekend. Some jackass on doo flew around a corner, lost it and hit me head on. Had a nice helicopter ride to the hospital, broken collarbone and broken bones in my face. Surgery last week to put plates and screws to push my cheek bone back out. Good times!
Limited snow, so everyone flocking to where the snow is. Guys. Slow down around blind corners. I like riding as hard as the next guy, but it’s certainly not worth the next 3 months being down and out. Not preaching, just saying!
The doo-sh was charged with careless driving, which doesn’t heal my broken bones, but will hopefully slow him down in the future.
Sled is a write off. I loved it. Bummed out!!
Cheers everyone.

Sorry to hear that. He wasn't a rider he was an asshole. Can't ride. You can ride hard, and ride safe too. He can take a corner on his side too...it's the riders choice.Well, my season ended 2 Weeks ago on family day weekend. Some jackass on doo flew around a corner, lost it and hit me head on. This section of trail was a no-winter maintenance road to boot! Easily 25 foot wide corner. TONS of room. Just way too fast, lost it, boom, done.
Wish I saw him sooner.

Sorry to hear! Glad you survived, by the looks of the pictures it could have been worse. Sleds can be replaced. Every ride out it seems I meet someone on my side of the trail...

Did he have a go pro on his head? Almost got hit last year, similar, but saw something moving through the trees...jerkwad with a go pro on our side, but had time to stop. This section of trail was a no-winter maintenance road to boot! By the look of the pics, that idiot was waaaay out of control. Thank God you are alright. Hope he had good insurance!!
I took 3 day saddlebag trip last week and had 4 close calls...all ski doo 850s in my lane. Not sure if these sleds handle bad or if they attract idiots, but it is frustrating.

Oh man,i will pray for a good recovery for you brother. This reminds me of my big trip last week up to caribou maine,i was by myself,so when I am along I drive more concervitive, and sure as you described,in your accident came same type of guys driving cat and doo ditch pickles, and lead guys each time were on the jam and almost into me,throwing snow in my face, and what seemed to be on every small bridge and tight corner. But I was careful for the 2nd sleds as they are always trying to catch the lead sled, and I was stopped just trying to stay out of harms way.Well, my season ended 2 Weeks ago on family day weekend. Glad your going to able to heal. Your right it is a real problem.
I was recently following Viper Dave in the UP I thought a guy was awful close to him, couldn’t believe they hadn’t hit. later we stopped I asked and it was closer than I thought, Dave said they actually hit skis- inches from disaster
Be safe guys stay RIGHT
