Blown Belt

Let mine ham on a plowed rode on weekend seen 115 on dash still pulling had to back out ran out of space. Cat rollers 3-3 minimal belt dust. (My viper would have more in 250 miles than I have in 775.) No slipping in secondary. Even after repeated 100mph (all she would do in the fluff) pulls powder clutches were only warm to touch.

My cousin was ripping with me and grenades a belt on his 1200 and his clutches were boiling check mine and they were Luke warm

How many studs? I feel if your studded out alot 6/1 maybe better?

Mind you those pulls were in 2 1/2 feet of fluff with a semi firm base under that. Found an old grass airstrip and kinda messed up all the Virgin pow...

to me it looks like you are slipping on acceleration for sure. I would try the 6-1. I noticed right away the shift was better .
6/1 it is.. Got to try. I really think if your heavy studded your going to burn your belt without more spring tension or more helix angle IMO
Its almost like you hit it and it just slams right through spring and helix instantly. secondary shifts out instantly(to fast)

For sure. Im not even studded heavy.

I'm really looking forward to daltons clutch helix that's coming.
 
I'm not sure what the number is. But they do excellent work. I'm waiting until they realease it and I'll call up and get the one he recommends and hopefully a new spring.
 
Someone better come out with a fix soon for the belt blowing issues. Talked to two other sidewinder owners today bone stock and they both blew belts under 400 miles. This is soooooo repetitive from the past cats I've owned. Very very dissapointing

I dunno I'm sure there a countless owners like myself that are experiencing belt life. I'm at 800 miles and the belt looks mint, minimal belt dust. It seems not everyone is dealing with this.

On a side note I do not expect a belt to last 3000 miles with 180+ hp. Can it be done sure. I have asked a couple winder owners I seen up north and one guys was 1400miles on original belt.

What do you guys think of my primary face. This is after 900 miles. 400 miles after I blew a belt and installed new rollers with 6-1 spring position.

The pic actually looks worse then looking at it in person. The secondary is perfect. I think I'm happy with this.

Nothing alarming in that pic. Could nitpick that the belt should be riding higher up in primary . The other half is what I want to see! LOL . Check it with a mirror Joe if you get a chance

I would hit that with a scotch brite pad then clean with acetone. Then good to go. Also clean and scuff secondary.
