They should have continued with the Apex clutches. Pretty much bulletproof.
I got 5,000 km on my MCX 290 Apex before she blew a belt. [I change at 2,000 - 3,000 now]
My Doo buddies with their turbo 1200's are lucky to get 1,000 km riding the same trails and theirs cost a fortune compared to 8DN's.

I would love to try an old style button secondary on the sidewinderThey should have continued with the Apex clutches. Pretty much bulletproof.

Nice you won't regret it and I think a dalton or thunder spring with more deg of twist will solve your issuesAlready the plan ! I just want to get my clutches looked at under warranty first.

That's what I'm gathering. A dalton black orange spring sounds like the fix. Or thunder products with glide washers.Nice you won't regret it and I think a dalton or thunder spring with more deg of twist will solve your issues

In comparison to our 08 Nytro the rollers in the sidewinder primary are very sloppy. Just seems the attention to detail wasn't there with all of the small issues with these clutches. I recall a member on here was testing a button style secondary on his winder. Not sure how that ended up.

The glide washers are for the primary I believe your issues are with the secondary the thunderproducts primary kit works very well stock to 300hp so you will need that or something when you tune but the secondary is where I would put your attention for your belt issues I am running the thunderproducts primary and secondary and it works very well. I don't have any experience with the new dalton secondary spring. That's what I'm gathering. A dalton black orange spring sounds like the fix. Or thunder products with glide washers.

find a different primary spring is a good start...some of the clutch noise is coming from the spring..glide washers are a must..for the secondary aftermarket spring and new style rollers..can sand the high ramp down on the helix so all 3 rollers touch or aftermarket helix

I know there's a tun of different helix options, and I'm a Yamaha owner. I am not used to having to buy clutch parts.
There's so much talk of dual angle helix vs stock. It's hard to make a decision on helix.

Its not the Apex clutch's, but the Apex cushioned gear reduction that made it so easy on belts.

. ultimax xs is the most durable and consistent belt i have test on my sled. I have try 8jp, 8dn, XTX 8jp and gates 8dn who's dangerously soft when hot....How do you like that belt? I would like to hear guys who have tried other belts. I think the Gates CC is the one many of us like but I have never felt the gates had a particularly long life, as they are softer but do perform well.
.Haha. I appreciate it, but the crew I got here doesn't forget easy.
Be ready bud, you ride a YAMAHA sled that is blowing belt........
You're friend are gonna talk about it for the rest of your life! Don't Ask me why.....
