Clutching on the cheap

Is that not what they mean by "shimming the helix?" To prevent coil bind? I have three .060" washer s under the posts and seems to be fine after 2200 miles.

like this

Some aftermarket helix's are short on tower height, that would be the only way it would hurt anything. The shorter tower top could clip the button....but the one in the above pic has long enough towers...

I don't see any issue unless I'm missing something:dunno:

Looks perfect yamamarc!!!!
thanks Cannondale is making me paranoid!!lol These are slides he is taking about right? They haven't changed in shape what so ever since adding shims!
Cannondale are you sure you have the same helix I do? 45/39

Lightweight primary spring (stock) or heavy secondary spring are much more apt to slip the belt.

Think ya got that backwards. Just sayin

You see how the corner of the helix is on the pad. Thats the problem. Maybe its just how I ride or maybe my setup but that corner dug into the pads and cracked them. Guess once again I am just "special" but really just something to watch for. Mine lasted probably 3000mi with washers. Dont shoot the messenger please:pics:
