I just got a call from my dealor- RJs of Duluth MN-and my STX DX was sent with the proper flash and I don't need to come in for the flash I requested.
Thankfully I have never had a hot start issue or kick back-may be that's why.
He stated some not all 15s were corrected or re-flashed and "I was not to worry".
The VIN# can be checked he stated.
For what its worth.

I have stx dx and my Maf was oct 2015. I check my vin # and it on the list to be done. I have never had a problem either. But this new flash also takes the 02 sensor out of play.

Technically there is no new flash in the US yet, no idea why. So the latest flash is the 2015, which you have. If/when a new flash is released in the US then yours may need an update. At least that's the way I understand it. Personally I have lost a lot of faith in Yamaha, they are doing things very oddly, not building much confidence.I just got a call from my dealor- RJs of Duluth MN-and my STX DX was sent with the proper flash and I don't need to come in for the flash I requested.

Could the delay in the US be an EPA related issue and Yamaha is being cautious or waiting on certification before releasing the update? Harley Davidson recently got whacked for their ECM race tuners not being complaint with the Clean Air Act.

Maybe but if so they kinda broke the rules by even having it available to the US dealers. Is very odd situation.Could the delay in the US be an EPA related issue and Yamaha is being cautious or waiting on certification before releasing the update? The update is not available through Yamaha in the US. the Yamaha engineers are still in testing phase with the new update.

So, I have a 2015 update and their may or may not be a need or BENEFIT for another 2016 update...........HMMMM interesting. I guess when you have 2 companies in multiple countries it gets confusing. So I might as well hope for the moon because mine is already running well just like a 130hp sled should but can hope for more.....lol
Yamaha and Cat need to get there proverbial 'poop in a group' to raise confidence in the purchasing masses.

Hmm good point. Has anyone that has had the flash done in Sweden noticed any AFR change while riding? Or we are going to have to wait until snow to see if it's changed the engine richer or leaner...

To add more Dealership Feedback...
Took my sled into the dealer for general Pre-Season maintenance yesterday (11/30). The Tech's knew about the flash and the story I got was AC's version of the flash is currently out; however, the Yamaha version is not available in the US, but should be shortly. The tech's made it sound like it was merely a matter of approval by whatever environmental body regulates these sort of things. Sounds like Grizz is right on.

After what happen to Harley I believe the manufactures will be cautious. Yamaha is probably going through the EPA certification process before releasing it in the US.
