Xtx will never handle as good as a LTX. XTX is non coupled. Its a 70% off trail and 30% on.

It would be intersesting to know if the problem vipers have an early build date. Perhaps the factory made some changes during building. the build date is on the rear of tunnel by tail light.

Hmm...Tim you have rode a correctly set up XTX? If true that would make the LTX much better than an Apex or RX1.

Well I would think mine handles better in tight twisties than an Apex or RX1. Maybe close in long sweeping corners. I have the LTX and the XTX with an uncoupled skid will not handle as good. Plain and simple. I don't know what your getting at?

I have not rode an LTX so you could be right, and do not ride any flatland or ice roads so I guess I can not give an intellegent response on that. But here where we have hard pack snow roads and trails (on the way to the powder..lol) and it gets rough the XTX really shines. Especailly outshines the Doo guys on the roads. Maybe someday I will get to ride an LTX on an ice road...sounds fun.

Ya, having an uncoupled skid yours probably climb out of the powder and float a little faster. I go to WY and Montana so I love riding in powder and mountains! Your track is maybe an inch longer than mine as it sits on the ground. I have a 1.6 lug track and I have more lugs sitting on the ground than a stock XTX. So maybe the advantage is less than you would think, but I'm not compromising anything on the trail or roads or anything of that nature. Maybe losing a little bit as far as floatation. Meaning you probably plane faster than I would. Thats why I got the LTX because I didn't feel like I was losing anything to the XTX but gaining where I wanted which to me is everywhere. I don't really feel I lose anything to a uncoupled skid. But for mountain riding or more like major boondocking I might lose a tiny bit in getting to the top of the powder and floating. Drove them both and they are both great sleds! I'm happy as hell with mine!

I'm very happy with it. Had problems (chaincase issues), but everything is ok now.

I would have made a believer out of you with my XTX this weekend. I went thru the tight corners better than I have with my Nytro with C&A razors. A couple of us guys played cat and mouse and surprised a couple

Well I have turned my front skid shock to just before loose on the spring, am running 125 lbs in the rear shock. Have evolrc-2's up front and put the simmons skis on with 2 - 8" carbides on each ski. The steering effort is is so hard that I can barely make the bars turn. Depending on the snow conditions I still have a nasty push. On hard pack trails it turns but the re-worked snow of the Hurley area it is quite a handfull. From corner to corner it is a ballistic missile but really gets the adrenaline flowing going through the tight twisties.

Finally got out this weekend, it warned up.
Saturday rode north till we ran out of snow, groomed trail 80%. No issues with over or under steer, some very slight darting, 230 KLM. day and she wasn't stiff or sore from first ride of the season. Sunday rode south, the trail was drifted so rode cross country, lots of Canola stubble with a foot of powder. If that was still her Rage 10 miles of trenching would have been (I'm tired, P#$% off and not having fun) now she's having fun and loves the sled. 30 to 40 KLM. of running 80 to 100 K in those conditions is a pretty good pace. Another 160KLM. day.

I like my LTX but I like the Apex better I still have an Apex also. I will say this after I put the Fat boy springs in; this is the best riding sled I have ever owned. It loves 2' moguls and is like being on a sofa in the stutter bumps. But the Apex invokes more confidence when ridden hard and the power is the best.
