I will be installing the Hurricane updated header to the Winder in the next couple weeks. Have a header blanket from EVO that I tested in 2015. Will modify to fit.
The insulation blanket that comes with it has sticky back on the other side. What I did was bought another piece and stuck it on the other side of the blanket. Worked great.
No wrap on header.
I am really happy with the addition of the Hurricane header and ss240, 270 300, 02 module tune bundle after one season on it.
Thanks Hurricane for bringing this to market!
Just want to bump this thread since I just installed another header. There is really no reason to cut the header shield other than to get the shield over the installed header. The shield can then easily be bent to fit around the header with plyers. Do this with the shield in place to save time and guess work. Also use a 1/4 drive ball socket with 1/4 inch long extension and all the bolts are easily accessible to torque the nuts down. I ordered the ball socket set after removing the stock manifold, but am confident it would certainly help remove the stock exhaust manifold. Very easy job and doesn't take much time at all. No need to remove the tank entirely, just flip the lines over the fill cap and turn the tank perpendicular to the tunnel and you will have plenty of room to get the job done.
