Last year of the Apex - "share your Apex memories"

Pretty good send off by TY folks for the Apex. Got my first one leftover ER from Jackman power in Maine. Took it out for a demo ride and fell in love Immediately. Made some mods and sold with 14k on the clock. Had two GT's one for daughter and One I had till last season> Upgraded to an 11. Never stranded like my years on Pull-aris.

Still waiting to start my memories with my Apex...times 2.

One of my best memories - towing my buddies out of gas 2 stroke arctic cat back to the hotel at night. Two up, pulling a dead sled, and the next day I raced his 900 Sno-Pro and kicked his #*$&@ - without ever changing the belt on my '07 GT. He was another "weight guy" and after the race we traded sleds for about 15 miles. When we stopped to trade back he came back and told me "I got nothin' more bad to say about these things". Never heard a peep about heavy Yamahas from him since!! I LOVED that '07 and put thousands of solo miles on, even late at night and NEVER thought twice about getting home. Traded a year ago for 2015 Apex SE 128", needed power steering. Awesome machine, but never made friends with air shocks so I'm in the process of converting to Axis shocks all around. Really looking forward to many more miles on Apex and many of them will be solo with no worries!!

Found me a 13 se with 700 km on it. Can’t wait to get a track under it. Wanting a cat skid and 153 x 2.6 power claw. Narrow front end as well.

Took a apex for a spin at a demo ride in Munising Mich in March of 06...... Fell in love with the motor and fit and finish of the sled so I spring ordered a 07 apex RTX and still have that sled and will likely never sell it. Have it dialed in clutch wise and ride wise ( M-10) to where I just cant part with it! I will say that I am looking at a New Viper with long track to meet my changing riding style as I age.. 40 yrs on sleds and I will say the apex is unforgettable! Sucks to see it out of production.

The 4 stroke Yamaha’s started for me with the RX-1. Then it was onto an 06 Apex, 10 Vector GT, and my current 13 Apex. Each year the changes were small, but it made a great sled even better. As others have stated, I have no issue riding by myself and have done so often. I’m off during mid week and not sitting home while empty trails await. People have asked me in restaurants are you riding alone? And i reply yes. They then say your brave. I say not brave, I ride a Yamaha. I’ve never even thought twice about it. Between all the sleds I’ve logged close to 50,000 miles without a breakdown. I dare any of the other sleds to offer such dependability. And that means everything when you’ve taken time off work and drove 7 hours up north. Nobody wants their vacation ruined and I’ve seen plenty of sleds being towed along the way. As they passed I’ve thought that sucks. Then i squeeze the throttle and smile at the groomed trail in front of me.
And for all these reasons, that’s why I bought an 18 Apex LE that I pick up Monday. I’m truly sad if this will be my last one. I’ll ride it as long as possible. See if i can give Nick Keller a run for his money.

Went for a ride with a buddy yesterday... I have a vk pro, he has a 2006 Yammy apex. Of course he let me drive it. Sled is 12 years old and has 12000 kms on it. He has never put a wrench on it other than gas and oil. I have been on all kinds of sleds in forty years of sledding. All I can say is WOW. Absolutely blew my mind. What a marvellous piece of engineering. It won't be long before one of these is sitting next to what will be the wifes vk in the garage. Don't even own one and I too have an APEX memory now. Well done Yamaha Engineering. That sled is beautiful.

Blue Attak, first ride after painting the the front and side panels.

Then became my asphalt sled that I used both in summer and winter.

Have a new SW that I love. But, will never part with my 2011 Apex. Very different but so much fun, reliability, quality. Going on a big Gaspase tour next month. I,m taking the Apex.

I had my wifes Polaris FST out yesterday and ran the heck out of it. Then today I took the apex for a rip and the refinement alone has me so impressed. Best snow I have ever seen in this area and we are pounding it.

mostly i favor all the memories of kicking vipercats asses on the trails.
