ok I now its not a new yammie chassis but....I for one love the new styling and red color the new front end and the new air intake, ecu flash and power increase etc. seem to indicate that that the sled is becoming what it should have been to begin with. I was concerned that there would be nothing but BNG sooooo hopefully this means they are staying in the game.

"ok I know" …...sorry

I like the fan and front radiator on the Viper. Sidewinder easy overheating on hard trails.

I like all the changes, But I really want to know what they did with the ECU as the "new special programing" leaves a lot in the air. Mine with the DEC 18' flash is finally how I expected the sled to run/perform but with new "gauge functions" does that mean its more than just a flash in the old ECU or is a new ECU? Air intake should help a lot, mine is usually running in the 70-100*f intake temp range, dropping that 30-40*f alone would count for an extra 4-5hp on the trail. I'm also wondering if Cat/Yamaha is going to sell a suspension upgrade kit, they do for mountain sleds.

I cant believe Yamaha still puts the Tunner skis on the trail sleds! Dont they ever read all the negative feedback on the skis? I also wonder if it has a beefed up rear suspension rod or do we still have to put a RR cat one in. Does anybody know if it comes stock with tunnel protectors like my 14 did? It is a very nice looking sled thats for sure.

I will say the tuners do work great on a hard pack trail only, they actually make the sled rail! Any loose snow, and you better slow down! Some people like them, and the people who don’t like them ditch them anyways and get what skis they want whether it’s CnA, cat skis, Mohawks or whatever. I see tons of vipers and sidewinders around my area with stock skis, I bet 99% of them haven’t even heard of TY lol. I use cat skis because they work great in all conditions. I think since they are both still in business together, they should give us the option whether or not we want the tuners or cat skis with a new sled purchase...

I really like that red viper! Love the new plastics and those fox shocks would rock on a ltx! Red goes faster too;)!

Hopefully they put back the O2 sensor and made it work properly with the ECU, as it was intended from the early beginning....

If you think about hard pack trails, almost any ski should perform with some degree of satisfaction. The tunnels are not a ski that instills confidence in any condition other than hard pack. I understand why they are still putting them on some of the sleds. Maybe next year they will get away from the tuner, or we might see a tuner-4.

I have wondered the same thing. I wish they would just address this- point blank. The reason I have stayed clear of this sled is the ECU issue. Is it a new ECU or just an improved one?
Would go a long way for customer confidence.

aren't these a upgraded tuner ski from 2019?

I’m not sure if they are upgrades or not. I did not read that they were and the video did not mention upgrade unless I missed it.
