Anti seize on the taper? I'm not sure i would recommend doing that.

Again... ULTRA LIGHT FILM... 40 yrs of experience here. Been doing this since the 70's with clutches not ONE issue. Can you elaborate on what will happen if used?Anti seize on the taper? I'm not sure i would recommend doing that.

I mistakenly torqued my primary to the old Apex spec and got some minor shaft slip on my Sidewinder. Luckily it did not damage the stub shaft.
Clean the shaft and clutch and put them on dry.
Another thing I have seen some tuners do is slightly heat the clutch taper with some map gas and then install the clutch. When it cools it seats the clutch even better.

When I first got my new X-TX LE home I did a major disassembly, before I even rode it, to check that it was properly assembled, adjusted, ect.
I also had a bear of a time getting the primary off and the sled had less then 3 miles on it. I was fortunate that my Dalton SS puller and some major taps with a hammer finally popped it off.

DO NOT lubricate a taper fit..... think about what your doing.
Bad habits Die Hard, no offense Mr.Kay but it’s not a good idea.
Every manual I have ever read says clean parts throughly, assemble clean and dry to torque specification. Blue locktight on the bolt I recommend.

I pull clutches every day. I tip the sled or atv etc. pump slime in and quite often dont even bottom the puller. after many years of occasional damaged pullers etc, this works great. the slime needs no thread tape and cleans right off with a blow gun.

Don't forget to scotch brite pad clean output shaft and clutch bore then a ultra lite film of anti seize before reinstallation.

For a sled owner ,like my self who has never pulled a clutch, this is an interesting dialogue .Not you Dan, this ^^^^^^^^
It will be interesting which method , in this case does the job.
Obviously ALL suggestions have worked in other instances .

A “Taper lock” uses friction to hold the male and female from spinning on each other. Using lubricant of any kind on the taper will cause a reduction in the friction between the two pieces causing them to potentially spin ruining them.
Maybe you have been lucky over the years and not had a problem but I can garantee if you grease the taper on a Sidewinder it will spin wrecking the clutch and stub shaft.
Some are even having problems with spinning the taper when installed properly.
There’s nothing wrong with giving the puller a little hammer tap to get the clutch to release, just use good judgement and don’t give it a “Happy Gilmore” ....listen to Chubs......just Tap tap tap it in.
