I bought the OSP adjuster last season, but never installed it. Stock with the 8jp belt, the top end on my sled varied with conditions, but on a long stretch of smooth trail/lake and a crisp day, I could consistently hit 94-95 mph. I am about to install the adjuster, and switch over to the 8dn belt, and I was thinking about getting one of the aftermarket mufflers to add a little more hp and top end. My question is, will I need to do anything else to the clutch, other than the OSP adjuster, if I add the aftermarket can?

Well if you gain hp you may need a bit of weight in the arms to keep you off the rev limiter. It seems that factory on these were set a little heavy to begin with. If you are not pulling more than 8800 rpms now you will probably be ok with the stock weight adding 3 or 4 hp will get you closer to the 9100 rev limiter. There is better bite on the 8 dn so you will not have belt slippage to deal with giving you false over revs.

^x2. I'm in the same boat. Recently installed a trail can (which presumably will cause a slight increase in rpms) and also did the 8DN belt swap mod (which I have read eats up a couple hundred rpms). In theory, we should be sitting as it was before doing either of these mods. Ie, should be running at stock rpms whatever those were.

I am going to wait to do anything more until I can test it. No way to be sure until then.

Looks like you got swampcat's sticker;)
