Relax! Yamaha is not lying Down.

I would like to know the real reason and goal Textron intensions were when they bought Cat! Like I said I believe it was Cat's factory's! What did Textron pay for it? $250 million plus assuming all their debt? If they can squeeze all they can out of the Cat company and can make enough to reimburse themselves for the debt they assumed, the $250 million was probably a good deal for the factories and engineering patents that they acquired! Just my opinion.

From what I can tell they needed Arctic Cats volume/factory of off-road vehicles to make a bid for a defence contract, witch was lost, after that o guess it's a game of creating value with something no longer needed.. well at least that's what I know from investing in textron

Why th efuck are they so tight lipped about the future Yamaha.!! They are digging they own grave right now!

What would dig that grave faster? Not talking about the relationship or putting a definate timeline on that relationship? Or even worse, putting a timeline on the turnaround, with the stipulation if you don't show a profit, this relationship is dead. That would put both AC and Yamaha on the hook to turn it around.

Until then, Textron is just happy that Yamaha is one of the best engine suppliers for their 4-stroke sleds, Wildcat XX and Tracker XTR 1000 SXS. If that doesn't show a profit, you can bet the relationship goes away. What good does it do for Textron to make that ultimatum public? It's seems pretty damn obvious. And yes, that would kill off Yamaha snowmobiles as well, but I really don't think Yamaha is putting too much weight on that. In the spring order only model, they literally lose very little if it gets snubbed. It's not like they will get stuck with a pile of inventory.

I wouldn’t believe a thing they say. These big corporate politicians are never going to say anything negative, it would have a negative impact on investor relations along with current sales of Cat products.
Also don’t forget about employee relations.

Of course he’s gonna say things will improve.

If your not seeing/hearing sneak peaks of future products it’s not a good sign.

Side by side production might keep them in the game who knows?

I was thinking the same thing. They are saying what everyone wants to hear. Could it be true? Sure but there is a good possibility that its not.

Guys Cat has a huge glut of Leftovers from way back in 12 and 13 still. Right now TA has 10 brand new 12 and 13 from Cat that they got in. I am sure others have same.

That’s crazy right there^^^^^^^

Guys, Yamaha is not going away as a company ever, Snowmobiles is a small piece of the pie and will be making them for a while! They also still sell many Waverunners, ATVs, Jetboats, SxSs instruments etc.

^You forgot keyboards and awsome stereos^

We were talking about Arctic Cat?

Any company that has 2 cents won’t continue making a product that’s not profitable. Sinking money into an assembly plant if Cat folds and won’t sell their existing facility probably won’t happen. Not to mention a new chassis they will need too design on top of that.

^^^^Outboard motors 2^^^^^

Exactly, they make many fine awesome products!
The tread is....Yamaha is not lying down. Not Arctic Cat, lets get the thread out of the weeds and back on the trail.
Yamaha has said they are in it and not going anywhere.
Maybe the Japan factory is back online and ready to build an all new sled better than before. March 2020 is not far away.

Ok then....With the current state of affairs, basically one chassis available, identical to a competitor, not assembled by yamaha....

They already laid down and are just waiting to die.

With the current sled sales, eminent global warming and disappearing middle class, would you invest your money into a new manufacturing facility?

I hope Cat sells their plant to Yamaha and they build the baddest MoFo all titanium turbo snowmobile just as much as the next guy!
Possible? Yes.
Probable? No.

Not sure what a new Yamaha Japan built sled and chassis would cost to ship to North America, the prices on the new Yamaha Sidewinders built in the US here in Canada are unbelievable, creeping up to the mid $20's now for a brand new one, if the market share doesn't kill Yamaha their pricing will, there are some that want a brand new 200hp Yamaha Sidewinder but can't justify paying over 20 grand before taxes, and do not want a Viper, so they look else where, and so they should.

Exactly no one doubts Yamaha Corporation is going anywhere. The question is what happens to the snow division and debatable that there is a snow division for Yamaha. Yamaha and AC are joined at the hip currently and AC says sorry the snow division is not for sale. So the natural question at this point is what is Yamaha’s direction for their snow division? As far as I know no one knows nothing has been said to the media so no way to know.
