Has anyone thought about some kind or engine heater for the sidewinders?
We had a couple of really cold mornings in Quebec this year...when my Apex started it wasn't happy about it.
Don't want to damage anything on a really cold start up.
I'm thinking one of the heating pads and maybe stick on oil tank/ chain case.
Thoughts?

Been thinking about the samething (started a thread on topic a week or so ago). Doesnt look like an in line heater will work and putting in a pad will be difficult (very tight space) but might be workable through the access port used to get to oil filter (won't know for sure until we see one open)

I've looked at the sleds twice now and I didn't see any place for a in line heater
I had a dipstick heater on the oil tank in an old Rx 1 when I rode out west at -35 it helped a little still needed a jump box to get them fired

maybe this new motor will be more sub zero friendly

Have you ever seen the oil filter heater and battery heater, that they use on the Generac standby generator cold weather kit ?
Has anyone thought more about this or installed one ?

My dealer offered to install one. Location was clutch side near bottom of engine bay. Said easy to install but for me trailer and sled get stored in location where I can't always plug in so I opened out.

Do you think you need 250 watts, seems high. They seem to suggest 125W might work for SW given engine size and oil pan capacity. Any experience with this product? Confident the pad will remain affixed to the pan and not fall off??

I have a 500 watt one now coming it
I think since the surface is new and with a little cleaning it should stick
Just plan on using it if I stay over night somewhere and its really cold
Maybe with the 500 watt one would only have to plug it in for 1/2 hr

My Plan as well - to be used only when away from home base and it is expected to be super cold (norther ON and Quebec for me). I don't have my SW yet (in 2 wks) but want to order the heater - is the oil pan readily accessible?
