Sneak Peak of New Sleds

I see the riot tcat and thats about it. Where are the 33 other sleds?

Crazy rationalization of their lineup.

Spoke to a local Cat dealer in Ontario and he said that the reason for the blow-out of 2019's is to hit their sales targets for their rebates from Textron. All the dealers had to commit to selling a boat load more sleds for 2019 then previous years so they need to do what they can to get that done. If they proceed with only Spring Order as it's stated that's very different but I see it as very good for guys buying the Cats. Because in the past few years the dealer blowouts on current/previous models has been killing the resale market for those who bought at regular price.

I'm not sure why someone said they just haven't announced all their sleds and are waiting on Yamaha, they wouldn't just do a half release of their sleds that doesn't make sense. So I think this is what we'll see, if you want a Cat with a 998T you're in a Thundercat and that's it.

Now I really want to see what Yamaha does, do they go with these improvements to the chassis or they release their own chassis? I sure hope they don't just release on the existing chassis with no improvements.

I agree......This is it!....This is what it's come to........I think Yamaha is going to do the same with less sleds!

If there was a new Yamaha Chassis there would be a teaser video from Yamaha and there isn’t.
Will the suspension be updated like the Cats hard to say but Cat does still offer the 998 for 2020 so maybe

There seems to be a vast majority of die hard true blues thinking Yamaha is coming out with something new for 2020, or this is the year for Yamaha to step up, what we see new from Cat is what will be in the Yamaha line up painted blue at best, I can not see a 2 stroke in Yamaha's line up, a updated Sidewinder in a couple different categories with a new paint and sticker scheme, they may have possibly drop the Viper line move to the SRX and focus on what is selling, every new sled will be spring order only, one can only wish and dream Yamaha would build a new cutting edge chassis and a new game changing 2 stroke engine to slide into it and maybe a new 4 stroke engine also but history shows that Yamaha likes to focus on improving the chassis that they are using not build a new one, as Yamaha fans we are stuck with Cats pro cross for a long time to come yet, I sure hope i'm wrong but here is the reality scale= 1 in 1000 of a chance Yamaha steps it up with a new chassis and motors.

Textron has decided to make CAT profitable. So that means no more flooding the market with too many sleds. So they simply are trying to get Cat back on track, gonna sell off the non-currant sleds of 15-19s. Which there seem to be many of. This will help their dealers too. The '20s are spring order only, so no 20s will flood the showroom floors.

YAM will likely be similar....they pulled way back last season to do this same move, and while I think we will see a few more choices next season, I doubt it will be alot more then this season. I for one would like to see some FIXES and Updates to some big issues, that is how you get people to buy NEW models, you fix the problems with old models. But I have a feeling they are waiting for an entirely new chassie for those fixes, and are simply just struggling to remain in the game now with their current chassie.

Unfortunately that may not get any new buyers excited....

Just my take on things to this point.

I too would be happy with an improved Winder. If they came out with a new chain case and a quieter clutch for example, I would probably trade up.

Textron and Yamaha each have a arm holding up Cat from collapsing on the floor, I believe they both are getting tired and week in the knee's.

I thought so too....but Its been known that YAM has tried to buy Cat out, at least a couple times I hear. Mainly to get the TRF plant I assume. But Textron declines, and still wants to make a go of Cat. So we will see if Textron's new strategy works, it sure makes smart business sense to get rid of old inventory and stop pushing dozens and dozens of sleds each year on even small dealers.

Yeah it's smart business for them for sure and good for buyers to not take a huge bath on resale. Hopefully we see something new from Yam but might be a Doo or Poo year next year for me.

Yamaha will have to have there own assembly line and plant some where else to come out with anything new like a chassis for the Yamaha guy's, till that happens it will stay Cat pro cross, can you imagine a assembly line worker that's been working for Cat for 20 years and bleeds green blood assembling a new Yamaha only chassis to compete with Cats pro cross, bad enough that that same worker is painting Cats pro cross blue.

I feel Yamaha blew a huge opportunity to buy Cat before Textron got their hands on it. Now there are too many cooks in the kitchen and I fear Yamaha will have an even smaller role in what happens in the Yamacat world.

Like many I was hoping for a Yamaha take over of Cat design and production and now we have both Cat and Yamaha a Spring only snowmobile. How can either survive? I fear Textron is just using Cat to balance their books and may end up liquidating them.

I hate the thought of just Doo and Poo being the only options. Who will push them to build better products?

20/80 if you where to tour the plants, Cat and Polaris you wouldn't feel that way. Most of the employee's we saw at both plants are just doing this until something better comes along. They are some that are "career" ammenbly line workers but its not something most people would want to do all their life. We toured the plants a while ago and with ecomomy maybel things have changed.
