Sr Viper 2016 flash poll and Thread

We have 4 Vipers in our group (2-14's and 2-16's)...not one of them has ever been flashed....afraid too! Just the occasional 2 cranks to start. I will be watching this latest flash (when Yami releases it) and it finally fixes the starting, kick backs, idle and stalling issues that have plagued many. If and when this latest flash is put to the test and results show promising gains then and only then will I update the ECU. Until then if its not broke......

I am in the same boat, I have a 2015 viper LTX DX and I have had no issues starting running... etc... only thing I understand better and work on , is the rear suspension seems a bit stiff....

Thanks Guys I have a 2016 XTX SE only 125 miles and no warranty, I called Yamaha and I do have the recall dealer said it could cause serious damage ! I have only started it in garage and on trailer. There is no warranty it seems like a no brainer that before I ride it I should have this reflash done ! Would ALL agree ?? With this low miles can I purchase extended warranty ??

There is a newer flash coming but yes I agree get the latest. Yamaha only offers extended Warranty if the sled is currently under Warranty. In other words once expired thats it. You have Us though. No Warranty needed!

Yep had reflash yesterday ,New England Cycle Center in Hartford Ct.Yamaha dealer ! Glad it's done eee ! This dealer no charge other Dealer said they probably would have to charge me a half hours time !
I have only started this sled on trailer and on stand in garage ! It SEEMS To start quicker but that could be illusion !

The lead mechanic at T&R Yamaha in East Jordan, Michigan said on line that they have a new flash for Vipers from 2014-18. This is the same flash as the 2019 have. No new hardware is required.

Did u get yours done yet? When I talked to him he said he did one already and you came to mind. If we don’t get the snow I’m going to take mine over on Friday.

Ok NOW for first time in colder weather on trailer not garage I heard first backfire today !
It didn't start the other day but fresh gas on top of stabilized gas a charge on battery and she started, I have New Battery on order !

For all of you going to the dealer for the latest flash and had backfires recently,
CHECK YOUR MUFFLERS... if factory they are likely damaged.
Especially the backside, it cracks almost 100% of the time.
