Header vs. Quiet Performance Muffler w/Tunes

Yes, Turboforce, thanks for pointing that out, I edited the post. Turboflow was on my cat 1100 turbo...…..wow was that ever loud!!
You should have heard mine after 10k miles on it! Even my girlfriend is like that thing sound louder.. LOL. You know they really dnt pay attention to #*$&@ like this? Not like we do.. So anyway I still got my original turboforce with 10 k.. Clutchmaster says he is going to "fix me up" .. Dude can weld. So he says he is going to try and make it a smidge quieter on the repack.. I didn't mind the Turboforce.. Maybe the speakers and music helped?

Back in January me and a buddy were stopped trail side and a cat 998 was coming towards us and man did it sound good, low tone but sounded finely tuned, he happened to stop so we started talking and he had the TD magnaflow muffler.

No complaints with the Hurricane 2.5” trail muffler sound wise or performance. I may try a 3" muffler next season just to see if there's gains there, but i honestly don't think the Hurricane muffler is holding me back much if any.

Just to clarify, I don't think the TD SQ is really loud, just slightly louder than I want sometimes. The stock muffler is too quiet.
As I get older I seem to like quiet more. But I still like to spend a lot of time running full throttle....ha

Anyone put a 3" outlet on these so called quiet mufflers?

Talking about exhaust notes, I have mentioned this in the past when comparing my smm to a stock Winder muffler.

My riding buddy and I, were playing on a big trail with some nice rollers for some decent air time. We were taking turns making sure the way was clear for one another on this 1/4 to 1/2 mile run. As he came by with his Max Spool 16 stock muffler tune, I remarked how surprised I was with it’s loudness, and the fact that I could tell he was turning 9K rpm, besides laughing at his air time during his high speed run. So we ran that multiple times with each sled taking turns, and what we heard was this. My Max Spool 16 with smm turns the same as his @ around 9K, but sounds as if it’s only turning 6K or so. His stock exhaust note has a higher pitch sound to it and you can hear every rpm note, making it as loud if not louder sounding then mine. My smm is louder at idle, but at wide open and going by someone standing there, the deeper sound does not allow for full rpm sound or notes! Never noticed that before!

Anyone else?

I have max spool 16 with the stock muffler. You are absolutely correct. The last 1,000-1,500rpm sounds downright nasty! I like leaning over the side panel and nailing it. It just sounds so awesome!

Love listening to those revs especially after 8850 or so on those stock exhausts, or exhausts that don’t hide the rev notes! My smm hides the notes! Weird...
