The 38 seconds was before the jukebox feature. With jukebox it is instant. Me, personally, I will always have it set to the most powerful flash for the fuel that I am able get unless someone else is going to take it for a ride. On the rare occation i get a light while trail riding no big deal to baby it to the next stop, pull phone out and switch it by swiping the screen. My point is the dash, while cool and on my list, is at the bottom of the list. I would rather put the money toward the flasher so I can get all the updates without going to a dealer. I only had the flasher for the last 3 weeks of riding last year and got 2 updates in that timeframe. When u want to pull the trigger on the dash the flasher will program that as well. It's my understanding that Dash Flash has not been released yet but is due any day now. Cost is going to be an additional $349 over price of bundle. Dash has to be sent to TD for programming. Benefit is toggling between tunes on the fly utilizing the buttons on the dash. Flasher cable takes 38 seconds to change tune and need to use phone app. I think i paid about $500 for my Flasher. Advantage to Flasher Cable is it reads/clears codes and capable of data logging information.
Disadvantages of flasher cable in my opinion:
You are tooling down the rr bed and your Buddy passes you. You stop, pull out your flasher cable, turn on your phone, change program to bigger tune then take off to race again. Too late....he is another town.

The phone app is just a bluetooth interface to the flasher. Not cell service dependent at all. Need to use a PC (not a Mac) to load flasher with latest programs (tunes, data-logging etc).

Dan, is the jukebox an actual box/thing you have to buy and put in? Or are all the tunes programmed into the ECU, and that button just changes it/the tune??
When you’re riding, and you press the button to change tune on the fly, does it take the two seconds that you showed in your video to kick in?? Or is instantaneous?
What tune is your drive clutch actually set for...270?? Cuz that is your default tune??

"Jukebox" is a play on words really......since we call them "tunes", sorta like a jukebox plays tunes(songs). I thought it was pretty creative actually..lol
Jukebox is a term that means a bundle of tunes basically...its nothing physical.
To use one map or flash or tune(all same thing just diff term), you simply install that map(flash the map) into your ECU.
To use the jukebox(more then one map) you need something that holds the tunes(maps) and applies them when you want them changed. So we use a piece of hardware called a 'flasher'. The flasher is mounted to your sled(down on chaincase) and plugged into your sled wiring full time. The flasher also has bluetooth. So now when you want to change maps, you tell the flasher to do it for you.
This season, GAP now offers a cluster flash. The cluster flash(coming very soon) not only has some cool looking font/lettering on your stock cluster, but it also can do some of the things the flasher does, like changing maps. Im not certain if the new handlebar button will work with the cluster flash too, but I am guessing it will.
In the video, im just showing that one press pulls up current map(240/270/290) and then a second press of button jumps to the next in your jukebox. If i hit the button twice it instantly changes map then. Dave is calling his "flash to pass". LOL..... Should feel much like my apex when I ran NOS and hit the NOS button.
You can set your default tune to any map in your jukebox. It only takes a second on your iPhone/Android to do it with the GAP APP in settings. This is nice, as we stop alot on trips to yak or take pics, often shutting down and off we go again, so I think on last trip I set default to 240 map. But with the switch it is not really that important as I swap maps often on the fly with the switch. I just got another button to test today it arrived. its the bottom button, and is similar but is near the hi beam, not sure which I like best but will test it.
Once you have Jukebox, you will instantly see where you like your clutching set at. I find that with my tight trails, its VERY important for me to have an ultra snappy bottom end sled that can lift the nose off knolls like a 2stroker. Its very hard to have this on a turbo unless you are clutched higher. So I tend set my 240 map up for 8750 or so(just a tad low) and then the 270 maps tends to be at 9000-9100max. This makes the 270 map a pure animal corner to corner and off knolls....Just sick. Honestly I rarely if ever run the 290 map at all. I would prefer a 240 87 octane map, and then the 240 race I have, and the 270 race I have.....that would make me alot happier as the 290 for me is not much diff at all then the 270.

Wow..thanks Dan for the great explanation and info.
And I agree...it is a clever play on words.
Lol I did get the whole Jukebox/tunes pun...but didn’t know if you needed an actual box for the holding of the tunes lol...thanks again for the detailed explanation, I do appreciate it!
The handlebar button you show in your video...is that the same button that we’d get from Hurricane if we chose to get the flash to pass button...I like the look of that button on yours!

Any question on the max spool 16 let me know.
FYI... TD Dash flash will allow td multi maps switching Instant tune switch using 1 button on the dash..
The tunes are store in the ecu in a single flash.
The dash flash allows the switching.
Or. One can get a flasher and a tune switch button on the handle bar..that you can switch tunes as you run...
All available on the td webstore.

Watched a TD Youtube about the range of tunes for Stock Muffler and Ben says use 3 Bar map sensor and Turbosmart BOV with SM Max Spool 16. Are these a must? Is it safe to run without these add-ons?

BOV is to make sure you are getting to target pressure. The 3 bar is for safety since you are at the limit of the stock sensor. I ran it last year on a stock machine with no issues but am at least putting those two parts on this year. Had big plans but dumped a bunch of money on a like new vector for the GF so funds are a little short now.

I am thinking of the Max Spool 16 but now Hurricane also put out the SM240, up in the air on which way to go? The TD tune needs a few more parts, in real world like riding not on the dyno i wounder if there is much difference in performance?
