WELL, WELL, WELL
You boys thought this thread was going to fade away like Kaperdinks career BEFORE he decided to kneel before games.
But as the great poet Forrest Gump once said, CHIT HAPPENS!
My trails were groomed every night to perfection. Best i've ever seen for a whole week.
Now you know about my buds' speedo sensor, my coolant hose under tunnel giving way & my buds' chain case issues, but there is more in the OCD saga.
I told you to strap yourself in.
While our Winders were in the shop, we broke out the back ups. His 12 800 Etec & my old Apex i sold to my cousin.
We had a great day. It was like the 'Ole days where my Yammi kicked his Doo arse all over Maine. Until his Etec starting pulling codes & running like crap.
Luckily our Winders were fixed & new blood came to town.
Well the newbie with a 08 Powertek started backfiring & was out of commission.
That left 4 guys on 3 sleds. So they flipped a coin & the newbie Doo guy got to ride the Infamous MUFASSA. My old 07 GT Ape with 19,500 miles.
He loved it & is completely convinced on getting one.
UNTIL the driveshaft broke.
Towed it home & into the truck. Then the truck starter blew! Towed the truck, with sled in back, down the street to get it fixed.
To top this whole week off, the whole camp got sick.
My cousin was yakking so hard, i wouldn't be surprised if his SHOE flew out!
NOW, some of you may think this week was all bad or even a failure, but NO!
While riding, i was staring at the beautiful & majestic Mount Katahdin & realized how insignificant my paltry problems are.
I ended up with 1200 miles, spent time with friends, and didn't have ONE belt issue!
Plus i didn't puke.
So what's the moral of the story?
Have fun & ride!
And if you ever get to ride in the OCD world. BUCKLE UP! Cuz it's gonna be a ride.
P.S. Can anyone name the comedian that quoted that vomit shoe joke?
Wow Steve what drama! We just got back from Temiscaming Abitibi Quebec and also rode 1200 miles. Our trip was pretty much non eventful compared to yours. Conditions were perfect with lots of fresh snow.

When are you going to make a thread comparing that 900T XRS to your SW?

I don't think it would be a good thing to do. I'm sure some would like it but others would probably prefer not hearing about a Doo.When are you going to make a thread comparing that 900T XRS to your SW?
I will say this though. I really like both of my 900t's. 1200 miles of perfect conditions and the only issue was one of my relays froze. Gasn go.
That being said I took two trips with my Sidewinder. 1200 miles in Gaspe and another 1100 miles in Temiscaming and my Winder ran flawless. Also another gasn go sled. I can't say enough about my Winder experience. I really enjoyed everything about it and if it was a true Yamaha I would still own it. What happened to Steve with the hose under the tunnel and Rockerdans chain case issue are just a few of the reasons I no longer have it.

Can't say as i blame ya. A 900t with a light tune wouldn't be so bad.

If you are happy with a stock tuned Winder then you would be happy with a stage 1 tuned 900t. I hear they run very good and will run right with a stock Winder. The big issue is most guys here want 270-300 hp and that can only happen with a Winder. Can't say as i blame ya. A 900t with a light tune wouldn't be so bad.

Yeah they've definitely set the bar to a new height and would be tough to go less hp lol. However there are guys like me that are getting older and priorities change. Less wrenching more riding. Less chances of being on a rope.

What would have been really cool was if you had a little intro music on this post! Then you could show images of your pics and maybe the heat gun and socks somehow? Start out with like a sidewinder doing 125 ?

X2 brother, same boat here and also the tighter trails for me locally I often wonder why I run the wrong sled.Yeah they've definitely set the bar to a new height and would be tough to go less hp lol. The addicting HP is hard to step back from. Not sure new Gauges will be enough this season.

I rode my buddies 850 renegade and was not impressed felt like I was on a toy snowmobile for my kids. Back on the SW and was so glad. I am on the fence as mine has been flawless till now and running great

New gauges and updated drive bits on the SW is all that the 2020 needs.

I swap often with 2s riding buds.....the 900t is heavier nosed then their 2s brothers, and it works MUCH BETTER IMO on trails then the 2s. Its planted and very predictable under all circumstances(much like winder but lighter feeling) while the 2s can be great 90% of the time, then become Unpredictable instantly on certain off-camber turn ins.I rode my buddies 850 renegade and was not impressed felt like I was on a toy snowmobile for my kids. 900t, for me comes down the to iTC as the biggest negative, and then the less HP from what we here are all used to now. Needs a tune for certain right off bat.

Yea totally agree, I rode a ProS 800 and it handles very well but in the power department it felt like I was riding a 440 fan cooled sled.

I made this statement years ago.
Notice how Doo waited until their 850 pushed 165 hp BEFORE they brought out the 900T.
