TPI Trail results

Saturday ran my new sled 40 miles on a local trail bone stock. Sled ran pretty good. Ok backshift and pulled 8500 on a quick straight. Nice smooth engagement at about 3000. Took the side panel off and noticed some black clutch dust on the white panel.

Sunday ran the same trail but installed TPI orange secondary spring set at 60, orange primary spring with 2 glide washers and 1 shim and TPI secondary clutch rollers.(Still had stock flyweights and helix) Sled backshifted much better and had way more snap at every rpm. Pulled 8700 on the same quick straight and pulled harder than the day before. Engagement was even smoother at a lower 2700. Took the side panel off after the ride and no belt dust at all.

I will add heavy hitters when I tune it but for now I am very happy with this setup. I know it will only get better as the engine breaks in.

The new orange secondary spring from TPI is a huge improvement over stock....not only that, but getting away from stock clutching will improve performance, fuel mileage, smoother engagement rpm and better pull and top end. TPI Sidewinder kits are selling like crazy

The stk. ramp is way too flat to make the sled even in stk tune perform like it should

Sled runs great now. The primary spring with the glide washers and 1 shim gives a little lower engagement which I like also but it does seem to have a much higher rate which might over rev when the sled is broken in. By then I will probably be tuned with the heavy hitters installed.

Probably but I wanted to play with this thing in stages to see how different clutch parts change the drivability. Heavy hitters are for sure in the future after I get a few more miles on the sled. It is raining today so it might be a while before I ride again.

I have everything you do plus the Heavy Hitter weights and 33/35 helix. My engagement is super smooth @ or near 3,000 rpm and it shifts out @ 8800-9000 rpm. The back shifting is what I really notice. Also engine breaking has increased due to the quick back shift.
