Buddah and all,
As for the trail question, I can answer for a portion of the trails. Since last Friday, I have put on around 450 miles all in the area of the Kingston Plains, down to Seney, north to Grand Marais and east towards Deer Park and places in between.. Today the trails were the best of all the days. The heavy holiday traffic is gone and the Grand Marais, Kingston Plains area received 4-6 inches of fresh snow in the early morning hours to noon today. Not sure how trail 8 is from the Buckhorn to Shingetlon, I know Munising had not groomed that portion yet this year as of last Friday, so I stayed away going down that way.
All in all the trails were average, to good to very good. Getting into Grand Marais was not a problem, snow all the way. Getting down to Seney is okay, the ditch is being groomed, it gets kind of sparse close to town. The swamp has not been groomed yet. Jerry at the the Hot Dog stand is back and is running strong.
Anyhow, I think the trails will be okay for the upcoming ride.

Be heading in sometime Thursday!
Munising should have groomed their entire area by now.
It is in their contract, properly grooming is what they are PAID to do!
If there is snow to groom, it should be groomed.
No excuses.
If they haven't groomed, I will be contacting the DNR immediately.
They are absolutely NOT getting away with not grooming this year.
That being said, I WILL be riding!

Planning on being up there for next weekends ride with a couple new toys, but may end up coming up Friday night and staying into the following week to do some testing. We'll see how it goes, I'm close to being ready. Havent booked a room at this point, but I'm planning on being there.
