Should be a fun ride. Not as many people as the other rides.

I have a room booked! Will be eagerly watching conditions.
I have a question about how to get to the Planes at KI Sawyer. I was there a few years ago and didn't do any research prior and couldn't figure it out (didn't even know where the planes were except on the base). Can someone draw out the best way to get to the planes from the end of the trail?

One more thing, I just learned that the sled dog races are the 16-18, but I can’t seem to find out what sled trails will be affected and when. Does anyone know what trails we have to avoid during those times?

I have no clue. We use to stay on base, some of the building you could rent out. Are you sure we can drive over and look at planes on base?

You remember where the trail dumps into the old hotel parking lot? From there you have to figure a way to get to the intersection where you turn to go to the commercial airport off of 94. The plane display is about 4 or so blocks up on the left at the first stop sign(opposite way from where you turn for the airport).I have no clue. Edit: I'm thinking I didn't explain that well. Off of 94 you go north as if you were going to the airport. At first stop sign planes are on left opposite where you would turn right for airport.

This ride usually falls on the same weekend as the dog sled races, the dogs go out early and it's never really affected us in years past.

Yes, I think you can because they are only planes for display use.So we can drive the sled to the planes?
Some of those Dog teams stay at the Hotel. Its kinda cool. Would like to watch those races sometime.

Depending on this Chicago storm, I should be arriving in Gwinn the day after tomorrow and I’d planned on tooling around on Sat. to see if I could figure out a good way to get to them.
FYI, we plan to saddlebag around the UP for most of the week, but do plan to be back in Gwinn for the weekend of the TY ride.
