XS 825 shakedown

Normally from 8jp to 8dn i need +1mm washer in tha stack... It used to be same thing for XS belt. (825 to 805)
Now their specs have change.
805 is 44,7/8 OD and the 825 is 44,5/8.
805 is +2mm wider,+ 1mm thicker than xs825 it was not like that before.

Do you have any documentation or is this what you have measured?
 
According to Timken official chart they sent me on 2-5-2020:

XS805 is 1-3/8" x 45-1/8". 1.375" wide
XS825 is 1-13/32 x 44-3/8". 1.406" wide

XS825 is .031" wider than XS805.
XS805 is .75" longer than XS825

I have 2 new xs825’s at home I’ll check them out Sunday
 
This may be of absolutely zero help but did you try measuring the pitch length method by rolling it on the table? Gates had a video on youtube showing how to do this because they said outside circumference isnt accurate anymore with the new cog style belts due to varying cog thicknesses. Often it times it causes a belt to measure longer or shorter than what it actually is. This applies to all modern belts, not just gates.
 
Why do these belts look different? I got the new one from Dennis Kirk (February 2020) and the old one from Amazon (Carlisle as the seller). Purchased two from Carlisle on Amazon in December 2019.

You can clearly see the fabrication date on them!

The broken one is made week#20 of 2019

The New "old one" week 46 or 48 of year 2018
 
At the end of the day, does it seem ridiculous to anyone else that with 200+ HP in these machines, we don't have better things to be concerned about than +/- 1 mm in a belt's width or length?
Perhaps even with hi-end ($$$) aftermarket clutches, if everyone is still so concerned about this, maybe a CVT system isn't the right answer for the sled's powertrain...

The reason Byam is concerned is he machined a primary clutch for more O.D. and pulled the 825 down into the secondary hub and blew the belt. So he needs a longer belt to keep it from going to far in the secondary and blowing. The 805 should have been quite a bit longer than what he is measuring.
