I've been seeing a lot of talk and speculation here recently regarding the EPS features that will be found on a few 2022 SideWinder models. Here's a few comments from the Snow Goer magazine website that should hopefully clear up some of the questions regarding the EPS....

I think anyone who orders one of the new EPS equipped sleds is going to have a awesome season next year on their new sled.

That SE handling will be solved with less ski pressure and a set of dual carbides! O wait were talking about EPS.. Sorry!

I don’t know Jon. I know of two sleds. One a Viper and one a Windèr that have incredibly hard steering. Setup, skis, shocks, springs all have been tried. I drove the Viper and could not believe how bad it was. Almost blew a turn. He put the BOP Steering kit on and it’s perfect now. Some geometry is off on these two sleds. It’s crazy the difference. Is a need for Powersteering especially for some I have no doubt.

I love their uneducated "Nose heavy" comments based on telling a logical story most people believe. Look at the weight bias, most all Yamaha's have more weight on the rear. I measured and validated on 4 scale. 60+% is in the rear. Power steering just makes sense for some trims and I'm glad they added it. I am almost thinking my Dad could ride again. The deltabox sled still had darting skis, and inside ski lift like a SOB but the cat chassis will just flat out work better for a touring rider now. Small change but I bet the sled is as comfortable as it gets after 200+ mile day.

Yea some times sleds are just wrong from factory.. I was referencing to the article and they were saying the SE was chasing ruts and had hard steering. Thats so cliché, what were the carbides and how much ski pressure was on the "SE" model??

Yup I know. Still think someone should make a steering dampener like all the race quads use for sleds. That would not help a hard steering sled but would definitely eliminate the bar feedback that power steering helps. The Doo guys would surely appreciate that.
