Looks like cat got some clutching tech to reduce heating and clutch problems also. Now we are getting 2 sleds in the same chassis with very similar 135hp motors and similar clutching for $600 less at AC

I just thought Yamaha would give tech for them to develop there own motor, but not give them there "golden egg"

Why not? They give us a very good chassis

This was known immediately at the Yamaha showing last week that Cat got this same motor. That's why this whole thing happened. Suzuki went bankrupt last year (auto division) and is re-organizing. They sold their AC stock back to AC and only had so many Suzuki built AC motors left for next year which AC absorbed. They needed more motors so they made this deal with Yamaha in trade for their new Procross chassis. The AC may be cheaper but you will not get the very efficient Yamaha clutches/belts. That alone is worth the extra $600 IMHO. Also let's look at the price of a Yamaha belt vs. an AC belt. The more expensive AC belt will be the one you are buying more of too. We will see about warranties but I bet Yamaha does this part better also.
You buy the coolaid. They are the exact same sleds. They aren't going to switch clutches and drives. The only thing different will be the paint on the tunnels and the plastic, stickers, head lights. Funny how Artic Cat has the clutch information on the website.
Just wish they would of turboed or supercharged the Nytro motor. Next year when they run out of the 1100 motors.

Well, accrding to Cat, they are using their own clutches...same thing said by Yamaha...only time will tell.

They also say it is a new c-tech 4 stroke. New chasis. What they say and do is two very different things. I think the viper and the cat 7000 will be fine but don't kid yourself thinking they are going to switch things out. If that was the case it would have more Yamaha parts. Whatever parts Yamaha didn't like they have helped them fix. Clutch would be one. Belt would be the second.
They will be the same sled different colors. Warranty will most likely be better for Yamaha but that doesn't mean it won't have the same problems.

What are trying to say banks? Cat is using their clutches and Yamaha is using their clutches. What part of that don't you see?

Also I noticed that the Yamaha uses a C shaped brace from the bulhead to the back portion of the skid. Not sure but I did not see that on Cat's photos of the breakdown of the skid. I would assume this is to reduce torsional twist.
