One thing that bothered me all season was the throttle lever. I really missed the feel of the Japan throttle lever, so this morning I did a trial fit up with a lever from an apex and it fit up very nicely!

My multi meter battery was dead so I have not been able to sort through the electrical aspect of the swap yet.

I will post back when I make some more progress.

Yeah I have to ride with mechanics gloves or the material of thicker ones gets pinched between the flipper and the bar

Did some measuring with the meter today to sort out the electrical differences. The Japan lever has just one circuit and heat is controlled by amount of voltage that is applied to it. The Viper lever has 2 circuits. The low/high switch determines which circuit gets the juice. Each circuit gets the full running voltage of 13.x volts, so wiring the yamaha flipper to one of the circuits creates a very hot lever.

I have a call in to yamaheater rock to see what his thoughts are. Perhaps he could offer a plug and play harness to allow use of yamaha lever.

Why cant you add a plug and ply element adhered on the backside of the flipper like Polaris has on theirs. I am not near my viper to look I cannot remember is it inside the flipper or mounted on the backside?

It's just glued to the backside. Cheap kit and easy to replace. I would be more concerned about Throttle Override and just the pull of it. Is it easier?

The japan lever fits right on and has not affected the overide system. No noticeable difference in the pull. The difference is the ergonomic feel. The viper lever just feels so big and clumsy.

Any links to the warmer element? I think overall more people will have interest in a plug and play set up versus having to glue another element onto the japan lever.

If all you got to do is glue a new element on that would be GREAT. You would have thought Yam. would have figured that out in R&D before they released the sled.

That is all you do. Might even be possible to re glue the one on the existing lever on. Looks like the heater and foam pad are $30.

Yamaheater rock is working on a plug and play harness for me to offer with the japan levers. Will be offering kits with a good used japan lever, the mounting hardware and a plug and play harness which allows for hi and low outputs to the japan lever.

We will also offer the harness for those that already have a japan lever laying around or source their own.

And thus another business is born - See ya next week on SHARK TANK... Beware Mr. Wonderful will try to do a license deal
