Big ry ry,
All that I will add is...you should do yourself a favor and shop around for a mortgage. I know you dont know me from anyone but trust me on this one...I was in the mortgage business. Have the realtors' people do an application, pull your credit and give you what is called a 'good faith estimate'. You will then know what interest rate you will be paying on, how much $ you need to come to the table with at closing(for down payment and closing costs) and how much he/she is charging you to do the mortgage. You are in the process of buying a house in which you are spending 'alot' of money...why pay more if you do not have to. Shop it!

I did a little looking around and my guy was pretty cheap, some places I called wanted money for pre-approval and a whole bunch of other stuff. Also I dont pay for my mortgage application fee upfront, it is included at closing.. The interest rate is very good at 6.25%.
Thanks for the info!!

Snow
Looking to ride tomorrow and thinking about going to Alleghany state park. Just talked to the park office and they said 8-10 inches of snow. Does anyone know how the riding is in that area. Does the park have allot of trails?
Any info would be great..................

Re: Snow
If they have 8-10inches the conditions should be fine there. The Park has a decent amount of trails that will at least keep you busy for a while. Some of the main trails are wide and twisty where you can really cruise at a high rate of speed. Almost like lake riding but throw in a couple curves. Since you run at a high rate of speed you will burn threw gas pretty quick at the park(or at least we do). We bring up extra 5 gallon jugs of gas since there are really not any gas stations to close(and it would be a hassle to load up the sleds). If you go...have a good time.

I was there yesterday. Not too crowded, but it was polluted with Cats. The main trail ASP1 was great, we went over it several times 80-110 the whole way. The side trails were OK, but there were a lot of stones in the snow. I rode 90 miles that day.

My buddy said he has ridable snow up in Holly near lake ontario, I plan on going up there this weekend as colded lake is not looking good for the sled fest, on the colden trail riders page today and trails are closed and not really talking about much snow so I think i am just planning on going to my buudy's for a sure ride

Thanks for the reports guys. I have been out of town(Long Island) all week...therefore, I havent been able to give you guys a report of the conditions around here in Chaut.County since I havent been out riding at all. I met up with a few friends last night down in Limestone, NY and rode mostly the Allegany State Park Trails. It was warm(34ish) and the snow was wet and heavy with some ice underneath. But...overall it was alright. I am going out today from the house and will be headed to Gerry, NY(along Rt.60) to watch the sno-cross racing they have going on today. If anyone is going there as well...look for us, I will be on my blue Apex and the wife will be on a black F7.

************REMINDER************
We are still planning to have the WNY TY Ride on Feb.17th(Sat.) I added the original write-up about the event(below). Please start posting if you think you will be attending so we can get somewhat of a headcount. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. It will be difficult to contact me from Wed.Feb 7th through Sunday Feb.11th...I will be in Canada(North Bay).
The Below info is also on Page 2.
WNY Ride:
When:
Feb.17(sat--with option of Sunday as well)
*I figure Feb.17th should give the lake plenty of time to freeze and hopefully snow is not an issue.
Where:
Long Point State Park on Lake Chautauqua
Contact Information:
4459, Route 430
Bemus Point, NY 14712
Phone: (716) 386-2722
Rough Directions Below(mapquest address above)
On Rte. 430, off Rte. 17, west of Bemus Point
www.nysparks.state.ny.us
I have never cordinated/took part a "ride" before but I figure we could meet up at the State Park on Sat. Feb.17th sometime in the morning-mid morning, get situated/map-out/set-up and on our way. I live and ride in the area so I 'should' not get us lost.lol A couple of different options we could do is (1) do a large loop and return to the State Park before dark...set-up a picnic type setting at a pavilion, chill out for a bit, cook-out, get warm by a fire and after...those that want to stay...we will round up a group for a second ride(night) and those that choose to depart can go on their way back home or to a local hotel. -OR- (2) Not return to the park late that afternoon but just continue riding and grab dinner at one of the stops/restaurants on the way. I figure those who choose to return Sunday for a second day could as well(I would be game for that as well).
Like I mentioned above...I have 'not' put one of these type events together before so if you guys have any advice or input on the matter/event...please feel free to suggest. This event will allow many of us to meet/ride with some great people and have a great time in the process. I hope some Apex guros(sp?) plan on showing so I might be able to learn a thing or two new about my Apex. All are welcomed to attend. Depending on the size of the group and trail conditions will decide on how fast/slow the ride will be. Long Point State Park sits right on Chautauqua Lake(17 mile lake) so even if the trails are not that great we can still get some lake blasts in.lol
If you may need any contact info(hotels--there are a couple of hotels right on the rt.86 expressway in the nearest city of Jamestown NY which is 10 min from the State Park, dealerships, gas, etc.) please let me know and I will get that info for you.
