AD Boivin ZX2 Durability & Performance Log

Nothing on mine. I'll get out this evening and shoot a few pics of the rear arm from above, both sides.

Thanks again rxrider for the pictures! It appears my skid matches yours.

I sent off an e-mail to ADBoivin on my rear arm wearing to see what they have to say about it.

I did find another issue that I am quite disappointed in. I inspected my brass bushings for the lower shock mount. After about 4,000 miles they are already showing pretty decent wear. I am down to .85mm-.90mm in spots while the thicker parts measure 1.35mm. I expected these bushing to last a very long time but it is not looking promising.

Happy to help you out mdkuni.

I will ride this season and tear down the skid completely next summer for a complete check.
Thanks for the heads up buddy, makes it a lot easier for us with less miles to know what to look for.

Is there anyone else out there with a conventional metal skid that have 19000 miles on it without any issues and breakage?

I have some wear on one side of my rear arm. I bought the skid used last spring with 1200 miles.

OK mine has nothing on the other side either :)

Are you guys referring to the rear "vertical" arms that run between the tunnel and the rails? If so, I have wear marks on the right side or "starboard" arm and have become concerned myself. I would love to hear what you guys find out. Thanks!

Shane

Just saw your photo KevinS. I have similar wear, mine extends further up the arms.

To me that would imply the suspension is flexing to one side like the limit strap slid over to one side like it does or you lost a bolt on the arm from a bolt backing out.

Mine show now wear either but I clamped my limit strap to the middle like rxrider did and I watch teh bolts like a hawk to check for rotation with vertical lines I mark on them periodically through the season.

My straps are set in place and bolts are in place. I can grab my rear arm with the shocks removed and pull it towards the rail gently and it will make contact with the right side. It will not make contact on the left side when pulled that way.

My strap is fixed to the center and cannot move out to the sides, I believe a combination of worn rear arm and strap out of center position could contribute to the wear.

Do you guys ride a lot in dusty/sandy conditions like spring trails.
