Asphalt Results 2005

they resurfaced the track so the traction sucks, 60 ft time is 1.595, 330 ft was 4.150, when the track gets more rubber down we should be in the 9.50's. i'm using a 4 stage boost controller that brings the boost up to a final setting of 14.5 psi and is still running on pump gas in the quarter mile. this controller is mph sensative to key the stages, and works awesome. jeff

Hey junkie - pro116 is correct. I tried bone stock, and yuck, the sled is slow. I tried some setups from users, (which is all posted in 2003 asphalt results), and tinkered myself with pro116 on some setups. Everyone has a great setup, Simon's CPR, Allen Ulmer, The Speed Shop, etc.

Still tinkering.

JT- Allen has one coming for me. Should see it next week.

good luck all you racers!!! i'm gonna play with the yamaha profile weights a little more. let me know if you see a nice setup for nitrous out there. ;)! :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag:

Terry, calibrated the tach and am working on the mount. Shoot me your address and it'll go out on Monday!

Allen

Some pictures of the tach with mount installed on the handle bars. Also some instructions on how to hook it up.

VDO XTREME TACHOMETER
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. First you will need to hook the RED and WHITE wires coming out of the back of the tach together via a scotch-lock.
2. If you want to hook up a ON/OFF switch you will need to run the red/white wires from the tach to the switch, then to the positive on the battery.
3. The BLACK wire from the tach MUST be hooked to a chassis ground and then to the negative on the battery.
4. The GREEN wire from the tach needs to be spliced in with any YELLOW/BLACK wire on the sled. I prefer to use a scotch-lock and hook it in down by the connectors in the nose of the sled.

ran today at union grove, 60 ft time is down to a 1.53 and now the quarter is 9.73 at 135 mph. can't wait for the track to get alittle better, it will easily run 9.5s when we get better traction. jeff

5/13/05 - Rained out - $%^&* $%%&^&*(

5/14/05 - Wisconsin International Raceway
Started out decent, 50 degrees with 40% humidity. Strong head wind of 18mph
Changed suspension spring to a 200/350 (stiff)
1st time run - getting the 60 ft. down in the 1.4's consistantly.
1.491 60ft - 6.897 1/8mile @ 94.331mph - 11.197 1/4 @ 110.259mph

2nd run - no changes, but spun the track about the 1/8mile a bit. I was the last one to go down the track and then the rain came, AGAIN!
1.495 60ft - 6.928 1/8mile @ 94.465mph - 11.284 1/4mile @ 109.276mph

Better luck next week I hope.

Jeff, give us some numbers on that Vector! Boost? 10-1/2'' track? That's SWEET!

all stock vector engine and stock vector chassis running stock vector rear suspension, (its a stock vector, lol.) 15 inch wide by 121 track, comes out at 9 psi until 25 mph, then stages to 10.5 psi, then 12.5, and finals at 14 psi, makes allitle over 240 hp at 14 psi running on pump gas. we will be setting up my rx-1 soon, just waiting for a front drive axle, jeff

Hey Everyone - W.I.R. 5/21/05 Temp up to 73 degrees, and 30% humidity that climbed to 62% towards evening. 14mph headwind.

Set rear spring to the max pressure, and put my new tach from Allen Ulmer on. (Allen, that tach is awesome!)

1st time run - track temp 102 Degrees
1.481 60ft. - 6.870 1/8mile @ 94.613mph - 11.151 1/4mile @ 110.835mph

2nd time run - track temp 108 Degrees
1.496 60ft. - 6.880 1/8mile @ 95.874mph - 11.163 1/4mile @ 111.218mph

1st round - Backed off to not breakout, but look at all my 1/8 mile times. I figured I would run a 11.14 (just a hint...It would have been right on.)
1.476 60ft. - 6.860 1/8mile @ 94.699mph - 11.219 1/4mile @ 101.578mph
**Won 1st round**

2nd round - spun off line, and lost by a small margin. Dialed an 11.16 (due to humidity)
1.509 60ft. - 6.906 1/8mile @ 94.836mph - 11.179 1/4mile @ 111.140mph
lost 2nd round

Good news, was an all sled final, with Ken Ziats, (the Skidoo driver that went with me to Esta last year), won the Spring Bracket Championship.

pro116 (Ryan), I won't be able to make the Union Grove test running tonight.........Sicker than H E Double Hockey Sticks!!!!!!

Supposed to be a beautifull night too.

Well I was on my way to Union Grove and stopped by Jeff Simon and picked up some parts and loaded his turbo vector next to my stocker and got on the highway a couple miles and blew the trailer tire.So I went to get my toolbox with all my clutch tools and everything else and it wasn't there I forgot it.I asl noticed the spare tir was low and it was almost coming apart so I called Jeff and he sent one of his employee's over with the compressor and tools and I filled the spare up and changed it with semi's going by 10ft away at 70+mph.Since I forgot my tools and the spare was junk I headed home.It was just one of those day's alot more happened nothing was going right.Hopefully wir dosen't rain out this friday.
