custom cylinders with some special porting, hope they can fix them, or otherwise it will be switched to a 1000.
This was "the would have been 8 second pass".

Ther is no way you'd get 1000cc out of a stock cylinder or crank. You'd have to go with a HTG cylinder or a Price cylinder. Your looking at 4K to 6K for a motor alone.

Terry talk to allen about 1000cc SRX's. He has an Intammassi Build 1000cc SRX. It's been nothing but head aches. If I was you I'd call jeff and see if he's got some 780SRX stuff he wants to bromm for cheap or look online for a 780 motor else were. 1000cc is a bad idea.

Jason, I knew that the stock cylinders would never be turned into a 1000. I just thought if the price was too high to fix, I would spend the money towards a 1000 whole motor of some sort.

Looks like all the calling I did last night to Tyler, Ryan, Allen, and a couple other members, we might come out pretty good on the repair parts.

Hey Tyler, I will give you a call tonight.

Ugly, the cylinders are off now, and the pistons look great next to the cylinders.

Took a good look at my clutch, and the center steel shaft, was rubbed down an 1/8 inch from the belt. My god! Didn't think that would happen!!!! So that is shot!

Well, 5/13/06 race is cancelled due to rain.

Hopefully work on the SRX and get the bottom end taken care of till the cylinders come back.

Well, we got our racing in today. Weather was around 60* and cloudy. I made some adjustments yesterday, and obvously they didn't help much. Spun bad every run. Going back the other way this week on the skid. Probably big clutching changes too. Spent the day trying to keep the intercooler on the carbs. Blew it off in all 3 time trials, then finally kept it on for the first round of eliminations, but pulled a .48 light. :o| Clutching is still way off. Last run it pulled to 7600 off the line, then jumped to 8600, then climbed slowly to 10200 just before I let off. I did get my VDO installed, and boy is it ever nice.

run 1
1.49 - 60' 6.34 @ 111.97 - 1/8mi 9.94 @ 134.30 - 1/4mi

run 2
1.45 - 60' 6.25 @ 113.08 - 1/8mi 9.82 @ 135.52 - 1/4mi

run 3
1.50 - 60' 6.29 @ 113.58 - 1/8mi 9.87 @ 134.71 - 1/4mi

round 1
1.49 - 60' 6.33 @ 113.11 - 1/8mi 9.91 @ 134.67 - 1/4mi

bender makes some kind of device that keeps the Intercooler on the carbs. It locks it onto them.

Yeah, I saw it on a friends sled. It's a turn buckle from home depot. No kidding.

I've got it on good now. Cleaned the boots really well with brake clean so they were tacky. Then tightened them down good. It never gave me this much trouble before. Should be all set now.

This is the result of the belt riding on the clutch at 130+ mph.

Terry how does that happen? Is that from letting off the throttle and coasting?

Not pretty, is it?

IT'S FROM THE MOTOR BEING LOCKED UP AT 130+MPH.
THE BELT STARTED TO SAW THE SHAFT AT THAT SPEED.

I have had the same happen on my Viper... Could you expalain how that happens???? I'm not sure i understand... The belt should be fully shifted out at that speed away from the shaft????

As strang as it may sound I have heard some people use hairspray on the boots to prevent this from happening...
