Its been said here before but bears repeating. If you blow a belt, recheck your offset.
I blew a belt under load Wednesday and my offset moved inward 1mm. I guess the primary moved in 1mm. I am now out of adjustment.
Has anyone removed the stub shaft and pressed it back outward? I may try this tomorrow as I don't like having to run my secondary with no shims. If not, a call to Hurricane may be in order.

Hard to believe that 1 mm will blow belts.

Take the four bolts out from bearing housing. Press the stock stub shaft out, clean it up well, put a thin film of locktite 648 on the shaft and bearing and press it back together.
Hurricane stub shafts are sold out for the moment.

If the stub shaft moved, can't be more than 1mm. The inner bearing seat on the stub shaft is machined with a shoulder so it can’t slide inwards that much. I would suspect it mouved onthe tappered end. When i checked my offset when new, it was dead on at 58mm. Removed the clutch to remove the stub shaft to see if it was pressed in all the way,(all good). As i reinstalled the primary to yamaha 108ft/lbs, the offset changed to 59mm+. My guess is the primary is not torqued to spec out of assembly line. So my advice to anyone who is mechanically incline, remove and retorque the primary before adjusting your offset.
Cheers

So you blew a belt at only 1mm beyond the hurricane bar spec? That does not sound good.
How many miles on belt and what HP?

I am saying that my offset changed 1 mm after I blew the belt. I had to remove a 1mm shim to get my offset correct. The concern is that I no longer have any more adjustment. I am down to no shims to get the correct offset with the Hurricane tool
I have had the clutch off and retorqured multiple times. It was always the same until this last incident

stub shafts can move in up to 1.5mm then the shoulder of the stub shaft stops against inner bearing..with stub all the way out can only get down to 60mm offset on most of the sleds I've looked at.

Welcome to the club of secondary machining . After reinstalling primary to spec, i did remove 2mm off the back of driven shaft to keep a 1mm shim against the circlip.
Great advice.Take the four bolts out from bearing housing. Press the stock stub shaft out, clean it up well, put a thin film of locktite 648 on the shaft and bearing and press it back together.

They are coming out in limited numbers. Might not be a bad thing. The type of tooling it takes to manufacture these went beyond anyones expectations. I can't speak for Dave but i can imagine he is on the hunt for a different supplier as his current one is not meeting customer demand.

There is nothing wrong with having no shims behind shaft,as it rides up to the snap ring, and does not bother anything, mine never came with a shim behind the shaft, just the snap ring that needs to be there.I am saying that my offset changed 1 mm after I blew the belt.
