Clutch offset STM's and stock

I think a couple videos like above done on a chassis dyno would be interesting. One done with no load and one done under load to see just how much chassis flex there is under power.

That was going to be my next point... Theory: Loosen the spars... Use ratchet straps and pull into position... Re tighten spars

Has anybody with a belt burner and stock clutches done this and found any discrepancies??

I have done this on my viper turbo. I got 1mm behind the clutch to make the belt go straight I am on 8dn belt

Blown 6 belts in about 250 miles. Tried adding shims, removing shims, breaking in belts, not breaking in belts, put all clutching back to stock and blew another. Pretty frustrating, dropping it off at the dealer this morning.

Wow that sucks! Snapping belts clean or shredding from heat?

Soupy did you do the eyeball test and check Center to Center and parallel?
How did it run? Bogging?

Yes eyeball, straightedges, pulled clutch cover twice, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.

Runs great, no bogging. I don't think i really have the proper tools for c to c or parallel measurements.

I appreciate your help, feel like dealer was my last resort. Been blowing belts since brand new. I welcome any other help and suggestions.

If your keeping the stock clutches? Tell the dealer throw away the Primary and buy/trade a Apex primary, the button slides and towers are twice the size of the Sidewinder... that clutch IMO is inconsistent/inefficient and plain doesn't work! I put the Apex on before my STM's and never broke a belt ..... Look at the pic, the Winder spider arm is bigger and half the size button now? That's like putting a 600 lb man on a little kid snow saucer shove em down the hill he ain't going nowhere fast...They beefed up the winder clutch in areas but looking at them it didn't help things IMO made a great clutch that belongs in a scrap metal pile.

Hey Super, any update on this after you've hopefully put some miles on it?

Yeah for me it made a big difference "for mine" 700mi no belt breaks or dust on a 8dn, clutch temps are just warm. I couldnt get 200mi on any belt or clutch.

A member asked if he could send a video to me to view and what I thought. His was slightly off and was actually to STM specs 2.09? Go figure
