Hope not remember the shitty suspensions on the Apex and Nytro SRX, What did Yamaha do to the new sleds besides motor and clutches and some panels?If Cat has it looking decent just think how good it will look if Yami gets their hands on it.

I believe he probably heard it on one of the shows. I think Snowtrax and Snowtech Magazine mentioned it. Probably just BS. I heard that Yamaha raised the prices of their motors to Cat and thats why they are limiting production of them. Polaris can just Turbo their own motor. I hate to say it since I miss the 4cyl and losing the 3cyl would be worse but a 2 cylinder just fits existing 2 stroke chassis. Now if Yamaha was smart they would make a 900cc Phazer motor with gear reduction and keep the 12000 rpm. But just dreaming!You have made multiple posts about this. What leads you to believe this?

The idea of picking up 12hp at the track would be phenomenal. Did it start that poorly clutched or is the belt drive, motor tweaks and other upgrades really putting this thing close to 80 ho at the track, and ahead of the Polaris 650?

No, the sled was clutched pretty well with the weights and calibration they had (was the best they could do with their stuff). We proved to them that our weights work and also showed them how to make the clutches work together, not against each other.The idea of picking up 12hp at the track would be phenomenal. Are they using a different weight after these tests?
Are YOU guys providing any parts for the production sleds?
Well I have owned a 2 st the last 4 years as a second sled with limited use. Definitely fun. Think about it often since it sure opens up possibilities. Are you getting a Mtn sled or a trail sled. Why didnt they give the race teams Catalyst's? Sure would have liked to see them in XC as a testing ground like they said they were.I'm getting one...never thought I would be on a 2 stroke again

I find it hard to believe this refreshed 600 in a new chassis is going to take down the 850s. No replacement for displacement. That said, it does look promising - hope Yamaha is trying to shoehorn in a 4stroke! And I agree; with such a prolonged public release some racing would have been a good idea. I also wonder if product development cycles at Doo are fast enough to adapt some of the new Cat technology. Polaris could certainly move their existing belt drive tech to the trail sleds easily.

Trail sled, but will be selling it when the big engine will be available.

Believe it or not, but this is a 600 and makes way more horse than previous years. Add perfect clutching, lighter weight and a nimble "no bump steer" chassis and yes....it's beating 850's

The new 600 engine. Makes way more hpr than before (trust me when I say Arctic Cat found power).
The one we dynoed did not have electric start. But it had the new Adapt clutch that has the mounting holes for it.
Would love to show you vids and pics, but I can't because of the legality bs. All I can say is the members here know I tell facts, not assumptions.
Result is..... Arctic Cat is doing everything to be back on top. This new 600 engine takes way more gram weight than I ever imagined, which shows it truly is making power. New engine, new lighter chassis, belt drive so less rotating mass, way better clutching and no bump steer.
The Catalyst has my vote!
Will be at Arctic Cat this week doing more testing!!! Stay tuned!
