That's too funny. Ad claims they didn't break out the 115, so they stopped at 110. Lol....that's too much.
Thats why I said deceiving. I haven't been following it other than to read it right here. Thought it was impressive too till I heard it was on 110 Race fuel. I just figured it was on pump gas.
From the sounds of it you can get an extra 10 HP on 91 octane and maybe 20 HP on 93-94 octane. So maybe 190-200 on high octane pump fuel with it and the tunes. WhoopdeeeDoo. I thought the Meth would carry the added boost for the larger power output but apparently thats not the case? I don't follow it but my buddy does apparently. Still will make for a good lake race machine though. Going to take a good setup 300+ Winder to run with it on the lake in a drag race....

At any level, I like it. This market is really getting exciting! 998t, 900r, boost and now the 850comp.
That damn Winder created such a stir. very Reminiscent Of the triple triple days.
Can't wait to see a good solid video, Winder vs 850r with both stretching their legs.
I've always loved turbos, since the '87 Buick GN days.....

I agree these tuned 850 turbos are going to be rockets and I am looking forward to the competition but no matter what they will NEVER be the gas and go performance we enjoy on the 998s. Trail ride on one day and competitively race on another with no major fuel or tuning changes...we are totally spoiled.

Race gas is not pump gas. This is why when someone with a good-running fast trail sled says their sled runs pump gas, and they want to race, I tell them ok but first let's gas up at same pump, go for a short trail ride to warm up sleds, then race. If they won't, then it's not a pump gas trail sled. Guys say they bring their own gas and it's at their trailer. Yep, it's in VP 5-gallon cans.
Hearing stories like this does nothing for me. Lots of guys can build a race sled that runs race gas and then hang out at a watering hole wanting to race what they call a pump gas "trail" sled.

While I agree 100%. What's the difference in adding boostane or 110?!?! Anything to enhance octane is put in the same category, in my eyes.Race gas is not pump gas. I suppose the only difference Is that 1 of us can only "trail ride" 5 gallons at a time.

I use Boostane as insurance against bad pump gas, which most of us know exists and is becoming more frequent. Like lakeside resorts that still have last summer's contaminated outboard gas or something. If I get good pump gas (ie 91 or 92 octane), I don't need Boostane. Big difference to sleds that have to have 100+ octane or they melt. While I agree 100%. What's the difference in adding boostane or 110?!?! I see boostane as a crutch. (I use it as well) almost religiously, at this point.I use Boostane as insurance against bad pump gas, which most of us know exists and is becoming more frequent. And I get fuel at the most populated fuel station around. Every time I go there there's at least 5 to 10 sleds filling up. So on fresh, no ethanol 91 I'm still getting the deto light, on PM tunes.

We have 93 at the pump down here so I fill the sled up with that and an additional 5gal can which usually gets me thru a weekend. Haven’t got a light with that but I do carry some boostane to add in if I fill up on the trail

I dream of pump 93 in Wisconsin. Every pump I go to is 91 (non ethanol)We have 93 at the pump down here so I fill the sled up with that and an additional 5gal can which usually gets me thru a weekend. Haven’t got a light with that but I do carry some boostane to add in if I fill up on the trail

Personally, Illinois is a great place to make pretty decent coin, but I'm with u. Lol. Thankfully I'm able to travel all year round. Friends in Canada, Delaware, Michigan, Florida, etc. Very thankful....It’s probably the only one thing that’s good in Illinois and that ain’t saying much lol. Yr better off in Wisconsin
I definitely wouldn't ride in Illinois. Other then 660' testing. For now, I'm riding out of landolakes. Right on the border of Wis & UP.

I see what pump says on it. But, I ride to it with no deto lights, gas up, then less than 1 mile down trail I start seeing deto light. I think in my head - I wonder what kind of gas that place just sold me? Can't trust what pump says. Law says they can't lie, but they do. Either the pump owner think no one will know if he orders 87 but pump says 91cor 92, or maybe his supplier thinks no one will know, so he delivers 87 into the 91/92 tank. Charges for 92 but delivers 87. I've seen it all so I don't trust what pump says. So I run Boostane no matter what. Either that, or I just turn it down to econ tune or something with less boost.I dream of pump 93 in Wisconsin. Every pump I go to is 91 (non ethanol)

Ever since I cut the clamp spacers and installed Murray clamps on my charge tubes I have not seen the knock protection flashing except the self check at start up.
I also run a secondary intercooler also.

I cut the spacers, still using factory clamps. Leak tested to 20psi. Idk...Ever since I cut the clamp spacers and installed Murray clamps on my charge tubes I have not seen the knock protection flashing except the self check at start up.

You are 100% correct. Sandbaggers around the watering hole. LOLRace gas is not pump gas. Some guys run with a quart of Torco in their belt storage bag. LOL
