If you’re going to lake race you use race gas
Not windshield washer fluid
The base for lake racing kinda sucks
I agree with Mike above on 998 to date
Ccs and more turbo is the way on a 2 smoke

Come on! I want to get a new Comp 850r, tweak it to about 260. Then just for fun id do a meth Purge kit. And just as I lined up I'd spray a huge cloud of meth right in front of the guy I'm lining up with. If it doesn't scare the s*** out of them, it may just disorientate him for a moment.... hahaha.
Only problem is Id have to line up on the left side every time. Lane choice is super critical.

You know if a guy was going to have a dedicated Lakeracer with race fuel, it should be the king of HP stock block 1100 Turbo Cat. Capability of over 700 HP, they can be had for dimes on the dollar if you get one a guy already has done up and sick of sitting around. Why piss with a lousy 270 HP two-stroke... Just saying, you guys gotta think bigger if you want to be the big dog on the porch.

Those 1100s are sitting in the shed under the bench
I still have rods and pistons for them new on the box
I have found it more fun to try to get back to a more level field than this high hp stuff
bring back side racing like it used to be

Like an old Chevy Vega, it started rusting before it was delivered. LOLSo...I'm watching a muffler install video for Comp R. Please tell me that's not rust on that support in pic!
If it is, it sures says a lot in terms of Ski-Doo's quality development team.

100% agreed. My last dyno tech visit I tuned my 1100 for 300.8 hp/196 foot pounds of torque @ 29.8 lbs of boost on 92 octane with Torco added. The mod stock turbo in that sled could be pushed to about 40 lbs of boost. If I was not trail riding it, I thought about building it further for just drag racing. That twin has a lot of grunt. I saw 136 mph in trail trim in snow. I ran out of lake before it ran out of gear. LOL.You know if a guy was going to have a dedicated Lakeracer with race fuel, it should be the king of HP stock block 1100 Turbo Cat. After further thought, I put the stock turbo back on it with the stock injectors, put a Slingshot tune in it for 240 HP and sent it down the road.

I’d like to do up a 1100 big turbo, the 998 block is limited. You know if a guy was going to have a dedicated Lakeracer with race fuel, it should be the king of HP stock block 1100 Turbo Cat. they are going to and scoop up all the 4 stroke riders from cat and yamaha in a few years.I personally love reading about these 850 turbos. I don’t think I would ever own one, but competition drives innovation. I am also hoping Doo drops the new 240hp Maverick engine in a sled.

Not all of them!they are going to and scoop up all the 4 stroke riders from cat and yamaha in a few years.
Most will still be on their sidewinders.

My '17 has been absolutely flawless. What would I do, if I had to?!?!
1) scoop up a brand new used SRX (ps)
2) watch this 850comp
3) 900r
As I get older I'm looking more at playing in events then riding. Life takes a toll on your body, playing in the North woods of Wis. are becoming harder and harder to enjoy. Longer wider trails are preferred, but further away.

I am trying a 900R this season (The Lynx version). If it does not impress, it will be sold in favor of a 998 Cat with EPS.

Will be interesting in your feedback. There are a lot of used Lynxs on the market but it looks to me like a pretty decent sled at least for the conditions around here.
