How are they coming along?
Started day with setup I made running ditch. Orange yellow orange primary spring,Ulmer weights with 9g in tips, ulmer spring 3-2 wrap and Dayco belt. Made two passes at 103 Nos pro said he saw 103 once during his pass on my sled but dropped after. Next pass I did 97mph and next less than that. Drag strip got loose and no more 100mph. Bang rev limiter hard on launch. No belt dust at all.
Put Studroes weight setup in 94mph at 9184. 3 times. Just barely touch rev limiter on launch once or twice. Exact same setup as first other than weights. This setup is very smooth engagement.
Heading out to change belt back to 8dn and see what happens. But reality is this is a true 90mph sled. The Excell kit made Huge improvement in mid range. Something I use more than top end. However I am dissatisfied with the top end. It did not hurt me but No gain. I don't know how to prove a mid range increase other than come try my sled or ride with me.

94-97 using 8dn so about same as Dayco

When you guys installed the 02 sensor in the mid pipe is yours touching the heat shield? Mine was good until I tightened the brackets around the exhaust and now the wires are touching the heat shield. Brackets on exhaust are in front of brackets on sled like instructions state, have tried moving the midpipe but no luck.

I ended up running to the hunting cabin to fix the heater, plow the driveway and take down my cameras. While I was in the area I went to Snow Shack to pick up a couple of kids helmets for the Grandkids.
Tomorrow we may go for a quick ride in Taylor County on the rail trail. Might get to see how the clutching is doing, but the plan at this point is to take the women so we will not be running hard.

Today we rode ditches and the outside air temp got up to 22 f . I was reading my air intake temp started at 65 f and as high as 85f. Today. With excells cold air intake would I be seeing close to outside air temps?
No. At that temp you will see about 34deg. It was about 10 here today. Was seeing 22-25f all day unless stopped.
Sorry I never put O2 in there since I have a pcv

Oh alright, I messed around with it and was able to get it a little better. The only other problem I noticed was that muffler tip is touching the rubber piece that is around the hole in the bottom of them side panels and the foam stuff inside the belly pan is pretty close to the muffler, will this be alright?

I haven't had a issue with heat of muffler at all.

Cannondale and other Excell cold air intake users. After you installed them your rpms came up some so did you all have to add weight to primary? Just wondering how much chasing this mod around to get dialed back in?
First of all I can't thank Nos pro and Shagman enough. Was a lot of brainstorming going on and plan was to take advantage of as many tests as possible. In the rush things get missed or forgotten and that did not happen today with these guys helping. They wanted results as much as I !
Got up about 5:30 am. We decided first test would be stock secondary pink spring since great result (consistent speed and no belt dust) from lighter 3/2 wrap on ulmer red spring. Washers were added to prevent potential binding.
No real diff in top speed seemed smoother more drivable. Not a big deal. I believe 94 was speed same 3 times. Now everything was nice and warm!
We removed the clutches and belt right off NosPros sled and put them both on mine. His had the C.O.C. Setup in there.
Right away I noticed the seamless smooth engagement and no frills cruising shift. It is as close to electric as I have ever ridden on Viper. Also no rev limiter on launch at all. This is a Lexus setup that still rips your arms off and makes you smile. Smoother than the Studroes setup and way smoother than Ulmer. Made it to same strip as all other runs. Made a pass and just about halfway blew the old 8dn top right off! Put the Dayco on. 3 full throttle passes all were 97mph@9200rpm. Never hit rev limiter. Very consistent exactly same each time. Not saying up to the end . I can carry the skis whole distance so takes a bit to settle everything down. But end result is same.
Brought sled back and we all thought of one more test. Coc primary and my secondary still with stock pink spring and Ulmer helix with washers for bind 3-3 wrap. 95 and 96mph@2100rpm so the K Ulmer helix lost speed and rpm. Might work well if weight removed from primary.
Conclusion with mods I have a 90-95mph sled in just about any conditions. I really like the seamless quality of the COC setup. Top speed of all three setups were very close. Under right conditions 100 mph is definitely possible I would like itjust not there yet!

Thank you very much! Having that kit validated by someone with your expertise means a lot, thanks again!
