Dont forget the handlebar switch too guys. It brings the multi-flash suite full circle. While the iPhone/iPad/app setup is needed, once installed the switch sure is fun and instant ''on the fly'' map switching. After running it for my trip to Qc, it really brings the map suite to its full realization. What a great job GAP has done.
As Mike mentions, this allows for alot more running on 240(aiding in belt life) and only swapping up to 270/290 maps when you really need it, but now its instant via handlebar switch.
The originator of early spool maps, Hurricane. Couldn't be happier.

Agreed that a flasher and a jukebox full of different tunes is the way to go. If you have to take lower octane fuel in the middle of a trail ride you can tune down. If you want to go racing for the day you can tune up, fill up with higher octane fuel, adjust your clutching and go kick everyone’s butt.
As Mike pointed out, the data logging option and being able to flash back to stock if needed is absolutely worth the extra cost.
Dan,
I did not know about the handlebar push button option. Is that a Hurricane only option? Please elaborate as to how it works.

GAP is working on it still. I did a test of the switch late in season, and spoke with GAP as to anything i thought was not up to snuff. Other then a few small items I mentioned to Patrick on the phone, the switch worked flawless. I believe GAP will update a few things to get it perfected, and will be available by end of summer i would expect. For sure by fall.
Im sure GAP and their subsequent tuners will announce when they are ready. And some tuners im sure will gladly take your money now to pre-order one. lol

We have held off releasing the handlebar switch in order to get the fit just right. We have done our tweeking and are now happy with the way it fits with the rest of the function switches. It will be available by fall

Hey brother.....Hi Dan, I read your post earlier and watched your video a couple times before ordering - are you saying there's something glitchy about it?
Early on, GAP got me one to test before the snow melted. I believe I was the first one to beta test it. I relayed my issues with it back to Patrick. As Dave mentioned some of it was precise fitment and the other was a plugin issue. I made the needed modifications to mine so I could test in on my trip.
Its an amazing switch. Very high quality and a very specific fitment to look completely stealth and factory like. Being that it needs to sneak in between the grip and block, it is designed with a groove cutout which just needed some tweaks for abit better fitment. Patrick at GAP was great on the phone and will surely have the tweaked design ready for fall I assume.
Im fairly certain any orders for new switches will be the latest design. GAP is really particular about things, which I really appreciate and even though the switch i got was nearly perfect, they want to make them exactly perfect. Sure are smart gang over there at GAP. Once i got things all working, it was flawless on my trip, and It really makes things fun when you want to change things instantly. And you see the change on the factory gauge, showing what map you are on. I liked it alot as the trip was cold and I did not have to ever pull out my iPhone to do any map swaps, just change maps on fly gloves on and instant. Now with the switch I made my default map the 240hp map, as I can now go up in maps so easily with switch. This was what i was waiting for, as my cat had the old dial switch on the fly and I really liked dialing the HP up or down from trail to lake riding. Took all season to get it but super happy its here, and just makes the system complete IMO.

The GAP Flasher needs to be connected on the sled but the mobile device (phone, tablet) is not mandatory. The tune switch will be displayed on the cluster.

I decided to go with the td bundle and flasher and run the stock muffler tune to start. Once i get bored of the power I will decide on what muffler and clutching to purshase and run the power trail. I ran against a stock zr9000 last season and we were neck and neck with my turboed viper at 6lb so i know i will want more power right off the bat!
I will be purchasing this fall once my spring order shows up.
Wife made me promise I would not touch it for the first season but this power addiction is too strong..lol I've been stashing $$ aside so the will be no record of transaction when i purchase

But that's the beauty of the TD flash - you're not technically "touching" the machine to modify it. Your promise to your wife is still in tact in my book.I decided to go with the td bundle and flasher and run the stock muffler tune to start.
