After finding every single rivet loose on top of the main tunnel including the one that hold the fwd to aft heat exchanger tubes loose, tunnel bowed up in the front and ripped away from the forward heat exchanger I would never buy a cat built sled again. Makes my stomach sick after buying new $$$$ and it has only 5000 miles on it.
The top of the main tunnel is only .050" thick.
Snow and ice bounce off of that thin crap all the time. Cheap crap.
Take your seat and gas tank off to find this. They hide it well.
Yep lots of loose rivits! Here’s what I have done to combat the problem. Replaced all the tunnel rivits with stainless 10-32 round head machine screws & nuts, loctighted in! Get’em tight!
The larger rivits on top I used 1/4 screws and nuts. You get much better clamping force from screws.
