Have you guys heard this news about Arctic Cat?

Sidewinder models outsell the T-cat/9000 by a ratio of about 10-1. Of course we must consider that Cat has the option of an 800 where Yamaha does not.
If the Blast was offered in a Yamaha version I absolutely agree it would sell like hotcakes even if it was retailed higher than the Cat version.
Yamaha would profit as well as Textron/Cat.
Obviously, Cat dealers would be understandably irate as it would take business away from them.

easily, in 5 years time you will still be riding one of the highest tech sleds out there.
Yamaha(all Japan models) always had 'high tech' sleds. However, they were also 'high' in weight and 'low' on handling.

You will not see a 2 stroke back in a trail or mountain sled in Yamaha's line up... period!!! only in the Yamaha utility market, do you guy's actually think Yamaha hired a new team of engineers for the snowmobile division to cut stickers and paint cat chassis blue...lol

I made this bet with one of my buds and I lost(!) when they came back with the 540 and then the Cat 600 with Yamaha badging.

Well how much does a Side winder ltx weigh ?? I have never seen or met anybody carrying a Apex on their back complaining how heavy they are most people ride them...except for maybe the odd Viper owner..only way for them to get it back to their trailer.

Your right most people do try and ride them but it don't last very long because the suspension is so far out of date to the competition it's not even funny. If you put any amount of miles on your Apex you will be walking cause your drive shaft bearing will fail and take out the speed sensor with it. :( please fill me in on this new team of engineers that Yamaha has recently hired, you must have some inside information.

Funny thing , I have over 20k miles on two Apex’s and never missed any fun rides because of a drive shaft bearing fail. Several 300 mile days and many 200 mile days. Lucky i guess

Not sure about that, I do high miles per year in northern Ontario and northern Quebec and my apex never let me down. Many trips have been rerouted or shortened cause of break downs and it was never cause of the apex or a Yamaha..

A few weeks ago I decided to sell my 2011 apex to experience the 998 turbo;)!

Well maybe just my luck had 06 and 08 both let lose around 2500 miles. I did not have very good luck with the bushings in the a arms either I could go on and on but I won't not trying to rip on the Apex. I'm just saying all snowmobiles have issues not just the pro cross and I'll argue that every time the Apex is by no means superior to the Pro Cross.

In terms of reliability, it’s no doubt more reliable than the Pro Cross. You might have had some problems with your Apex but overall there are many many more that have issues with the Pro Cross chassis. You look foolish even making a statement like that.
It’s not even arguable, it’s fact.

All this banter is for not. We do the same thing every year and it will never change. It’s bad enough being a lions fan but this is too much!

When Yamaha moved their head office to Ontario Canada a new team of engineers were hired, its been accouple of years now, as far as your Apexes drive shaft bearings sorry to hear that, I always use the proper grease and have had no problems as of yet.

Foolish, not it's my opinion just like you have yours ;):D
