Have you guys heard this news about Arctic Cat?

Where did this off topic comment come from?

I mean if you want to get off topic, would it be appropriate for Larry Enticer to be the spokesman for the new ET 400/500? Maybe a new Klim/Yamaha Jacket in Denim?

That failed attempt at about the 1:35 mark couldn't have felt too good....!
"Snow too soft"

That's weird! I'm pretty sure those posts came from another thread.

Seems to me to be a pretty nice "intermediate" sled. I'm seeing tons of feedback from multiple places saying 65hp isn't enough, hell it's plenty for the target market. I got into sledding in the 90's and 60hp was the heart of the market, every other sled on the trail was either a Phazer or Indy 440/500. I still have my old Phazer II and if the trails are in good shape it has no issue keeping a 60mph pace all day long. With bit more power, WAY better suspension, and the same weight this 400 single should be a great sled and a good replacement for the "getting hard to find" Phazers and Indys of yesteryear.

It wont be enough for the Blast M. At 8000ft elevation it will be down 24-25% power making it have under 50hp. That thing isn't going to go anywhere especially if there is 3ft of powder. I focus on the mountain stuff because that's my type of riding and from experience with multiple machines at elevation I feel this one is going to struggle.

Computer glitch or operator error?

The only thing I can see wrong with the Blast is that they didn't put a Yamaha Phazer engine in it. Hopefully Yamaha will remedy that!

Folks in the AC forums are asking why no 4-stroke for 2021. This could be the year that 4 strokes only come from the Yamaha camp. But we still have plenty of time before all spring order models are expected to be announced. This is still a very early release

I don't know where you came up with 6K but according the Yamaha's website your not even close...
He lives north of the border, that is 6k in funny money. When you add all the fees including all the taxes it is that much.

It is going to be a long wait until March, or whenever it will be that Yamaha decides to release its 2021 lineup.

Most of the converted dirt bikes are around that. Someone will turbo it for sure. FUN!

I agree with Blueironranger that this is going to be a great sled for us flatlanders. I like the M model, but think a 146 with a 2 inch lug is too much track for this sled. I get that Cat probably didn't want to spend the money to make another, but shorter, monorail skid ... they save costs using parts they already have ... but I think its too much paddle and too long for this sled. I would be much more interested if they offered the M in a 144 with a 1.75, and market it as a foothills sled for playing in the meadows and valleys. And you're absolutely right that it'll be so down on power at elevation that it won't have the grunt to move around in deep snow. You have to bring the Rs up to make power with 2-strokes. With this sled at elevation, you'd be ringing it out so badly that you'll be needing to refresh the top-end every 40 hours. That said, I think motor is going to be a lot of fun at 1,000 feet or lower elevation. My son, who is now 14 would love this thing. I just wish the trail version had been offered with some different track options. A 1" lug just doesn't appeal to me, and going 14 wide limits your aftermarket options unless you're going to cut it down. Would have been nice to see the ZR with a 129 skid and a 1.5 or 1.6 single-ply Cobra. That would give this sled more crossover appeal, and spark more interest I think. I really like the concept of one-lunger 400cc injected 2T, and hope that it is a great motor for Cat. It's going to be really light (think their specs say 50 lbs) and it's making pretty good power at 65 ponies. Should be a Blast to run it at lower elevation. I will end by saying all things considered, Cat did a pretty nice job with this sled.

I would get a Freeride track just like Phazer and make it fit on the Alpha skid model. If you like dirtbikes it would be as close as it gets. Definitly fun!
