Have you guys heard this news about Arctic Cat?

After finding every single rivet loose on top of the main tunnel including the one that hold the fwd to aft heat exchanger tubes loose, tunnel bowed up in the front and ripped away from the forward heat exchanger I would never buy a cat built sled again. Makes my stomach sick after buying new $$$$ and it has only 5000 miles on it.
The top of the main tunnel is only .050" thick.
Snow and ice bounce off of that thin crap all the time. Cheap crap.
Take your seat and gas tank off to find this. They hide it well.

Thanks for the heads up, not sure if other owners of the pro cross are having this problem, its really a shame that the amount of money you pay to have a top of the line sled end up with this type of failure with that low amount of mileage, hard to believe Yamaha puts their seal of approval on Cats manufacturing bad habits, hope Yamaha comes good for you and fixes the problem for you, keep us informed on your problem and if Yamaha addresses your chassis.

1nc 2000 that really sucks maybe some peptobismal and a new Ski Doo will make ya feel better. All snowmobiles are alluminum and held together with pop rivets. I pound the carp out of mine with 6500 miles on it there are a few lose rivets and bent up alluminum but it is was it is. If you don't think the other manufacturers don't have these issues your crazy. I guess you could buy a Apex and never have to worry about anything like so many others on this site rant and rave about.

My buddies Apex about broke in half same spot. All the holes were oblonged big time was like a hinge in center. May have helped the ride. But the sled has over 20000mi on it.

The only thing I can see wrong with the Blast is that they didn't put a Yamaha Phazer engine in it. Hopefully Yamaha will remedy that!
I won't rule out a version with the 4 stroke phazer engine, however, it would come with a bigger price tag for sure.

Yep, I've changed plenty of rivets on Vectors and Apex over the years, especially in that area. Not a problem just specific to Cat.

Hey Bud, I have a nytro with 20,000 miles on it.
Had to replace a few rivets here and there with high miles.
Maybe if it was a 5000 sled I would expect 1980's quality but not now.
Now I know why cat guys are never complaining g about stuff like this because they are used to it.
Didn't know when I bought one of the most expensive trail sleds built I would have to lower my expectations!

So back to the new release....are there pictures anywhere showing under hood? Would like to see the layout? Same chaincase design? Room for dry sump oil tank if yamaha puts a 4 stroke in? How about cooling system...tunnel coolers or radiator and fan?

I looked all over. Nothing. Sure would take major changes for a 4st in there for sure. Would be nice but not too hopeful.

I half wander if there is some other new tech under hood that yamaha contributed to which is not being promoted yet.

would be hard to find and buy a new or next to new Apex now, its to bad, yep..20000miles with loose rivets on a Apex is about normal just broke in, but is a far cry from 5000miles on a $20000 Sidewinder, I don't blame buddy for being mad, just glad he was kind enough to bring it to the pro cross riders attention.

would like to hear one running or a first ride vid, kinda wondering what the new blast engine sounds like.

I would imagine it sounds like a 72 olympik
I had one but I believe it was a 73, 18hp one lunger, great suspension, like sitting on a anvil all day, didn't sound like a piped triple though.

Closest thing I can think of for a sound comparison would be the late 90's Polaris Xplorer atv.
