Sorry that I am a true blue but I have good reason to be, pure Yamaha sleds have kept me in the sport of snowmobiling, I have owned the other brands but Yamaha always left me smiling and a strong comfort of reliability with some minor maintenance lots of trouble free miles, there is no better feeling when traveling with a pack on a pure Yamaha watching some poor sucker on a Cat wrenching on the side of the trail, poo and doo not much better but are getting there, so now Yamaha has been soiled by Cat and has lost 50% comfort of reliability in my eyes and may never get that status back but as a true blue there maybe hope in the near future.
Never say you are sorry for being true blue; I think most of the guys on this site would bleed Yamaha blue if you cut them. I started with the Yamaha 4-stroke outboards 15 years ago and my experience with Yamaha engines convinced me to move from Polaris 2-strokes to Vectors. After more than a decade of Yamaha loyalty, I like to think that my blood is as blue as the next guy. True the Yamacats have given me a transfusion of "green" blood, but if you cut me, I will still bleed Yamaha blue. If Yamaha starts building its own sleds again in my lifetime, I will undoubtedly be there.

biffdotorg the only thing I'm calling junk is the chassis and suspension because in my eyes it is in no way shape or form does that delta box compare to a pro cross. I see you also still have a Apex and a Viper witch one of the two gets ridden the most.
There are plenty of things that make the viper better, and most of it has to do with ergos and design. And how it performs for a particular owner depends on their riding conditions. I have put enough miles on two vipers and two apex's to make my own decision, and you don't want to know the answer to your question above, as it will disprove your silly point. Delta box is not junk, it's a damn tank, and that is why it has been perfect for "my" riding style. But you are right, in comparison to a viper for a chosen riding style it is "junk" in comparison. But that does not make it junk. Get my point.
My Apex is setup perfectly for my riding style, and I will take it any day over either of the vipers. And mind you, the one viper as as tricked out as it comes for "trail riding" minus a turbo. (ulmer clutching, gearing, PC5, Airbox mods, 8DN, Woodies Studs, CA skis, Deuce bars and HyGear Axys shocks all the way around). It's a trail rocket.
But if you want to know which gets the most use, that probably has more to do with the lack of family participation, and the fact that I can only ride one sled at a time. But I buy blue for engine reliability as point one. And that point will override many other points. And the only reason two vipers were ever purchased. Otherwise, the only cat to cross the threshold of my garage has been my Wildcat Ltd. (and that thing was only purchased on price, as it's a unreliable shitstorm, but loads of fun)

There's some real bleed blue sickness going on around here! I have been a VIP member on Totally Yamaha because I love the support this group as given me, and I like to reciprocate. But you will never hear me call someone elses choice junk. (unless they ruin my riding day waiting for them trailside)

Why do all these threads degenerate into the Pro-Cross/ Delta box debate?

Broken record is a under statement some people on here have no problem putting down the new YAMAHA but oh my gosh don't start ripping on the stuff there riding. I'm pretty sure this site wasn't designed for people to come on here and bitch about YAMAHA because there doing something that they think is wrong. YAMAHA IS GONNA DO WHAT THERE GONNA DO if you don't like the direction there headed move on. Oh yea I think the new Cats look good and it also shows they are still in the game a lot of people have already wrote them off.

definitely a lot more respect for cat, I used to hate cat with a passion. Now I really like cat, actually thinking about switching to an all cat sled and maybe trying out an 800 2 stroke. Also thinking about a sidewinder lol I’m torn about it. Never ridden an apex, all I know is that it’s probably the best sounding sled out there!

I was at my local Cat dealer today and one thing they did say is that Yamaha and Cat want the new models in the future to look more unlike each other. I take that as body etc, not chassis.
