Mach Z not stock king of the lake.

At the beginning of the month, only a few took delivery of their Mach Z. Those guys, along with hurricane where typically running 107-110mph. Now more guys are getting out and possibly in better conditions.
Claims are more in the 110mph+ range. With a growing group that claim 115mph and higher. What's not to believe?

Ski-Doo (Marketing) doesn't need to produce the "fastest sled" to win. They already have. (Won)

I think the 900r platform is a bullseye at a completely balanced sled. (From a marketing standpoint)

I don't wear anyone's blinders & don't like the taste of Kool aid.

With all that said....I've got my stock Sidewinder, 100% ready to dish out some absolute punishment to the Mach Z. Heading up to northern Wis/UP on Monday, for a week or so.
The exaggerated speedo readings/recordings are all part of the the clever Doo marketing.
It's working.

The doo speedo recorded numbers are pure fiction.
Means nothing
GPS only matters

In the high end speeds ,my 2019 X-TX LE speedo over indicates by 7% when compared to the GPS.
When riding side by side with an 850 Renegade, the Ski Doo speedo reads even higher then mine!
The Ski Doo speedos truly are dream meters.
Since the availability of GPS, anytime someone claims top speed if they don't show me on the GPS I lose interest very quickly.

My Tcat is out by no more then 1-2mph over gps. But, I am studded and the ones that are not are less accurate. The DOO's are truly 10-13% higher.

I'm on a Mach Z group. Many guys are now coming back with speedo indicated 118mph runs.
I really believe, as with all sleds.....some are studs & some are duds.
I'm starting to believe this 900r is a contender.

Note: I'm guessing they lack strong throttle at 80mph+ like the winders.
But that's becoming less important to me as I age.

Good read.....thanks!
Yes 900r will do 118mph on the GAUGE/DREAM METER! I own a 900r had it out yesterday zero miles on it and 117mph. Now that being said my Garmin Gps stated a MUCH lower #!!! 108mph lol typical skidud!! Or should I say slug! They have zero power 6000rpm upward from there, nothing like a sidewinder! No need to be worried about these 900's they are not even close. BTW mine revs 8000rpm and holds it so don't know what the rpm issue is.

How do you like the rest of the sled compared to a SW?

It is actually pretty nice, front end is planted and light steering. Rear skid is definitely plush and seat is very comfortable. Quality of build is very good also. It definitely is not a sidewinder in the performance department and I really liked the front end of the winder . I haven't had to much testing yet with the new 900r xrs on rough or twisty trails but will post after my trip next week. Unfortunately any sled can't have it all, I already miss the power of the winder

Absolutly Bob,gps or radar gun, only two ways i will believe somebody,s speeds. The last time i was out on our local trails here in maine,i ran my gps on one of our much smaller trails, and it was hard to hold things for very long on somewhat groomed trail, and my gps was 119 not bad,but i have never had any ice to run on,at least not smooth undrifted ice,so its very hard to get consistant speed when your front end is jumping over drifts.

Ya thats normal speedo error for most doo,s, my 2008 800 xp would always show 10 plus over gps speeds, and on hard pack snow,it would gps 108,but most of the times the skis would still be hanging, hard to turn when skis are in the air.

I have no idea how fast my SW will go as I have never held it WFO long enough to find out. I have never owned a sled prior to my SW that is so fast that I never maxed it out! The max I have seen on my GPS is 119mph and it was still pulling hard.
Gotta love these sleds.

I completely agree with you Bob,these sleds are very fast, was the 119 speed you saw Bob gps on a snow trail? If it was a trail on snow that i think is very good speed as well.

Sorry Bob,i just re read your post, yes it was gps,but was it on snow to boot?

Yes the 119 on GPS was on a groomed snow trail on the lake and still pulling hard...and that is with a 141" x 1.75 track...crazy fast.
Well that is truly awsome speed Bob,ya sometimes these 141,s that are uncoupled run real well, but the 13/4 track lug height, now that really sounds awsome.
