A well tuned 900R takes lots of $$$ to destroy a run of the mill tuned 998T. It’s nothing to run into 275-300 hp tuned Winders. To get beyond those hp numbers on a 900R you are in a cost range that you might as well buy another sled.Sometimes facts are hard to swallow and I get it.
I know where there is a 900r that destroys most 998s

thanks for the clarification
I don’t care if it’s 2 or four stroke and what brand it is
I ride 1500 to 2000 miles a year
It’s fun for me to work on snowmobiles
I enjoy that part as much as riding them
It’s not my job and it’s peace away from my job
Sometimes facts are hard to swallow and I get it.
I know where there is a 900r that destroys most 998s out there but there’s not a lot of them.
They are out there
I know that given the same parts on a 998 a tuner will do better than someone that buys and bolts on parts also.
I don’t have the fastest boost in the world nor did I have the fastest 998 or 1100
I do know how to make them fast and I continue to learn and that’s really what it’s all about. This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s what happens on the lake
If you’re going to talk smack you can also receive it
I can but I will also defend myself
enjoy your sled
You said you don’t drag race and you trail ride. I drag race my trail rider and to each their own.
I see all of your modifications you listed
and it’s good you rely on Polaris to keep the sled starting! Lol
As far as chassis go and how they hold up
They are tested in cross country racing. Hp on a railroad grade in Munising doesn’t equal the beating a 600 goes through in the i500 or most cross country racing. I think skidoo poo and cat all have pretty good sleds in that dept. I raced for cat for some years and that is brutal
Your little jabs don't bother me any.
I ride all over the UP.
Let's hear all of your other screen names that you had when you were kicked off of here.

So I guess if that’s true then I am smart because cost to fast ratio on the boost is much lower than a 998
You can argue all the angles you want but fast is fast and who cares what is spent?
Boost in video has 23500 in it total
And reread what I said and again it’s not a knock on a 998

A well set up 900 ace with the right tune will give a poorly set up “tuned” winder all it can handle.
Set up is key, that’s why I’m amazed that a 2 stroke turbo is beating up on some 998’s!
I guess if everyone kept their sleds stock then these topics would be boring.
HP to HP, you can’t beat the 998 for what it costs.

Most people can’t make a 998 go
I race well set up ones and it takes 300-325 to get by where it was
It’s not there anymore
I’m talking stuff that comes with chisels and fuel to put in
Not off the trail machines
The 900r that was fast was fun to see
Didn’t think about man he’s got alot of money in that
Just thought he did well with whatever he did

There’s one guy on here that knows how to make a 998 go and I think you know who it is. He has done his homework. Most people can’t make a 998 go

OK
The OCD boy has the results & some videos!
I just don't know how to post them
BUT I can tell you this:
STOCK to STOCK
Boost out front then Winder reels him in and goes by
UNLESS I'm on it
Let me explain
I ran 1200 miles this past week against a BOOST, my old ECOTRTAIL Winder, a stock 21 Winder & a crap load of assorted 850's
The BIG RACE was on an abandoned airport in Limestone Maine
We ran them about 2 miles
Kinda warm out so almost mushy
These Little Rock-Em-Sock-Em races went on ALL week on trails with same results
The Players:
My 900R with CUDNEY clutch kit, Ice Attack track, 174 pounds (I ate like crap all week so cut me some slack)
2021 Sidewinder with 250-260 pound rider. 144 studs
2017 Sidewinder ECOBOOST with 96 studs & 185 pound rider
BOOST with 250-260 pound rider with 96 studs
Me & BOOST always out front with me ahead by 4 sleds ahead of him & I stay there.
BOOST can't catch me, but I also weigh about 80 pounds less plus I get LOW, real LOW
Winders a few more in back of BOOST
We just pull them on the bottom & mid on EVERY hit even going 20 to 60 mph roll ons.
21 Winder catches me about a mile & 1.5 he's by me.
We even ran others & these were the results...............just the plain truth
BOOST is lighter & spools quicker. So it pulls ahead just like mine did last year stock.
JUST the FACTS of LIFE
Then the big 998 gets angry and struts on by!
My old Winder has a Winey rider that has every excuse in the book so I'm not sure what his problem was although at the end of 2 miles he went by me faster then the other Winder did. I gps'd that sled at 122 years earlier.
He hit a bump, sled twisted, his Tampon got loose, he didn't Poop in the morning.
I should have grabbed it from him but he blew a belt one run then lost his coolant later so I'm glad I didn't
Back to the story at hand
ALL WEEK we trolled others to find out what this BOOST was made of
I don't think it's quicker then a NA 850 just pulls more on top
AND when we swap i will outrun my 900, of course that's a 160 pound swing
Turns out that SALAD is the BEST speed you can buy!!!!

I was more about the BOOST against a SideWinder than me.
I didn't expect to be in the race so maybe my kit got me some overdrive
Those 2 weighed the same.
The BOOST said it was on 87 octane setting but we don't think that made a big enough difference to catch that 21 Winder

My BOOST bud admitted the Winder is still Top Speed King
But the Winder boys know they have to have some room to catch us

That’s accurate and I agree
We saw about 1/4 mile for Tcat to catch stock

OH there's more
3 Poo's had bolts come out of suspension including my buds' new BOOST
We helped a blown Poo 850 off the lake
I heard there were 2 more melt downs in Maine this year, both Poo's
6 of 7 last year were Poo
VES oil is $70 a gallon
I don't care if the new Turbo 2 strokes are the fastest....................me NO likes 2 SMOKES

You really don't think a boost would be much faster than an NA 850?OK

I find that hard to believe.
My neighbour wanted to race on the weekend, we were out in a long field where we could race about 1/3 mile.
To be clear, we knew I would win before we raced, we just wanted to see by how much.
He is on a 22 assault and I was on ecotrail stock muffler.
He is one length ahead at 50 feet out, I'm passing him at 100 feet, and am a few bus lengths ahead at 1/3 mile.
Neither of us have picks at the moment.

A good running one is quicker
Poos clutching is not great and there’s a lot on the table stock
There’s no timing low on boost
There’s lag and that’s why I’d not ride a stock boost or 998!
Too easy to make them more fun
