Mine started much better before the newest flash in this cold of temps. Will try again with some tuning in morning.Sucks! Hope the rest of the trip was good. Cold riding.
Do you guys feel your sleds were worse for cold cold starts from the update? Or just no improvement?

Got mine done Wednesday, starts first try every time though hot starts take a few more rotations of the engine than it use too. Started -12*f and -21*f the past 2 mornings with about the same amount of crank time as the hot starts. And Hot or Cold, the engine now fires to life instead of sputtering to life or sputter and die. Cleaned up the 0-5000rpm range so its not nearly as touchy around clutch engagement, no performance gains noticed above 5000rpm though.

So it cranks and cranks till the battery is dead?
You guys have really got me rethinking getting this update done. Very cold weather starts are my top concern.

I do NOT have the new flash and I had no problem starting at -25f first try. Cycled the key 3 times then cranked it on the 4th time no flipper, just turn the key and held it for about 3 seconds after it fired off. I have a brand new 320 CCA battery and an MPI 190. I did start using a bit of dry gas every other fill up after I noticed a film of ice on the underside of my billet gas cap. I try to use non-ethanol fuel only, when possible.
Last year with the original battery I could not get her to fire below -5 without jumping.
Last week I was riding with a 16 LE and 3 Apexes, temps never got above zero F during the day with -25f with 30mph to 40mph winds at night and the only sleds that would not start were the Apex 14 XTX with a weak battery and an Apex that probably had fouled plugs. This no-start issue for the apexes was a morning issue only and the other Viper is set up the same as mine and had no issues starting.

Check the new flash in my MCX logger and its leaner at idling, but not on higher rpm. They also change timing in midrange.
Very snappy and my MCX 270 pulls very hard. Turbo guys, be careful for detonations on low octan fuel...
Just replaced a burned out 02 sensor on my AFR gauge and noticed this also...while warming up would slowly creep up into 16’s but was bang on everywhere else...if you feather the gas while at idle you can keep it in the 13-14’s...

-20 Celsius this morning and it took 3 times to start...think I’ll start cycling it a few times before I crank it.

I have mixed reviews on new flash. Decent cold starting at -30C, but once engine warmed up having to try twice to start to often (ambient temperatures from -20 to -30C). Does seem more responsive, with less idle fluctuating. Did have brief stalling issue when pulling out of trailer one morning. Couldn't blip the throttle, had to commit and hold on.

I have a 2014 XF 7000 I rode a this weekend in the UP. Not sure what flash I have because I bought it used last year and the girl I bought it from bought it a couple years ago. Started perfect every time hot or cold. I was a nervous because last year it wouldn’t start in a cold morning. I updated the relays and hasn’t failed to start so far.

Was talking to a dealer in town here who said that cold starts should be improved for the 2016s with this flash, as they start the worst in the cold. This apparently addresses that. Said it prob won't help cold starting for the 2014s and 2015s.

Can anyone confirm a rumor of the rev limiter being increased to 9,400?
